1995 was a totally forgettable year. The team was moved to a more local South Central Conference, still playing in BAFA Division 3 along with London Blitz, Oxford Saints and the Mets. However through player shortage the Mets did not complete the season and two of the three games against them were not played and we got them awarded to us. The only really win of the season came at the Mets, with QB Dom Mapleston having an outstanding game passing for 136 yards and a touchdown to Paul Symonds, and also recording 65 yards rushing with 2 scores, one being for 50 yards. Leigh Potkin had a good kicking game converting all 4 kicks (2 Fieldgoals and 2 P.A.T). Richard Barnes and Giles Stevenson took over the running of the club with another move for running back Mark Lewis to Linebacker and he was replaced on the offense by Paul Warner, formerly of the Thames Valley Chargers. The final game of the season at Rockingham will be remembered for the safety recorded by Pat OReilly after an extra point attempt by the Rebels was fumbled. Jonathon Munckin Gursuch recovered the ball before passing it back to OReilly who ran 86 yards untouched for the teams only points of the day. As in 1994 the team traveled again to take part in the 7 a side tournament at West Brom but came away without recording any wins against the Yorkshire Rams, The Presidents and 2 losses against the combined St Helens & Lanceshire Wolverines.

1996 saw many changes to the team in what was its 10th anniversary. Firstly Len Scott the former London Thunder and Redbridge Fire Head Coach replaced Steve Hicks as the man in charge. The squad grew even bigger near the start of the season as a new team that were trying to form in the Luton area could not get enough players. Most joined the Cheetahs and played with former players in the clubs 10th anniversary game against a weak Hamlen Dragons side from Germany that got totally out played 60 - 0. As for the season the team were moved to the Midlands Conference to play against old friends the Carterton Wildcats and West Brom Vipers as well as for the first time Redditch Arrows, Gwent Mustangs and Leicester Huntsmen. With 20 new faces the team got better and better each game, with Full back Phil Honey staring in the season opener a home to Carterton Wildcats. After only being a spectator in the first half he recorded 203 yards rushing on only 9 carries to tie the clubs record and scored twice including one from 71 yards. Rob Suttling became the starting QB from Dom Mapleston as the season progressed and in game 3 Vs Redditch Arrows he recorded 181 yards with 2 Touchdowns. One an 83-yard pass to rookie Jim Hayward, who became the first Cheetah to record over 100 receiving yards in a game, and the other for 63 yards to Stewart May. The arrows came away with win though, scoring all their points in the second half with the winning Touchdown scored with just over a minute left to play. The team gave Head coach Len Scott a great 40th Birthday present by hammering West Brom on their own pitch 62 0, with Suttling passing for 153 yards and 5 Touchdowns on his way to become the first Chiltern QB to pass for more than thousand yards in a season (1089 in total). Phil Honey rushed for 160 yards and 2 touchdowns and 3 P.A.T. The Defense was also improving and in the last game of the season against Leicester they recorded 6 interceptions of which 2 where returned for touchdowns by Leigh Potkin (51 yards) and Rookie D-Lineman Dave Cox (27 Yards). Leigh Potkin also recorded a safety when he sacked Leicester QB in the end zone. Safety Jay Rayner picked two passes off and took his total to 9 for the season, which lead the Division 3 Stats.
