Modeling on the Tang Dynasty style wooden architecture, Chi Lin Nunnery (§Ó½¬²bb) is one of the famous travel site in Hong Kong. It has taken a total of 10 years at a cost of over 700 million Hong Kong dollars for the redevelopment project to complete. Next to the Chi Lin Nunnery, a 33,000 square-metre "ancient garden" at estimated cost of $243 million Hong Kong Dollar - Hammer Hill Road Park, is currenntly under construction. To harmonize with the Chi Lin Nunnery, The Hammer Hill Road Park will be based on the concept of a famous Tang Dynasty garden in Shanxi Province. There will be pools, ponds, streams and springs, wells and waterfalls, as well as a large collection of unusual rock formations.
In January and August 2004, unusual sizes and shapes of rocks with some weighted over 100 tonnes, were transported to the construction site from different parts of China such as ChangJiang and GuangXi Province. Kanson Crane Hire used their 300t capacity Demag AC900 and Liebherr LTM1160/2 to lift those rocks to positions. In below photos, you will also find their new Mercedes Benz 2640 tractor transporting the stones with low trailers. ¡@ |
