A couple weeks ago I went to Starkville to see two of my favorite local bands...John Black Attack and White Chocolate. Unfortunately JBA couldn't play, but White Chocolate put on a damn fine show.

The show was really cool. They played a ton of my favorite songs. Also the crowd was chock full of some of my favorite Starkville folks. I saw people I ain't seen in years.
Jen and Chapman were there, for their last night before heading to Austin. Tristan was there. Anne and Ben were there. Meghan was there. David was of course there (drunk...surprise!). Steve was there and so was Woody (showin's some skin). Christie Divine was there. I even saw a very wooly Sisko.
White Chocolate often have contests, and they usually involve Jeremy Brown. This was no exception. Gene Simmons explained the rules. They had Jeremy and some other guy take off their pants and coach some girls doing push-ups. Who knows where that came from.
Dave's is really dark. And the band was lit with red Christmas lights. Luckily that made for some cool pics. Normally I would have shot the whole thing in Sepia, but it looked much cooler in color. They looked very rock n' roll.
I mainly hung out in the bar in the back with Tristan and Anne and Ben. I could see the show and still snap pictures and hang out and talk.
I took about 120 pictures. I got pictures of damn near everybody. I swear I love my digital camera. By the time we got to the after-party I was spent. I used a flash on the last few pics of the band's rousing finale...a cover of "Summer Babe" by Pavement.
I think everyone had a good time.
