Learning Along The Way
![]() |
Rom 1: 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
Ephesians6:1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER (which is the first commandment with a promise), 3 SO THAT IT MAY BE WELL WITH YOU, AND THAT YOU MAY LIVE LONG ON THE EARTH.
Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
John 8:31 "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
Rom 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
But there are ways that we can learn God's ways. One of the most powerful ways to get understanding is to ask God for wisdom.
Another way that God gives us wisdom is by placing us under the authority of our parents so that we will honour them and things will go well for us. Satan takes great delight in turning people against their parents
Isa 55:8 "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways," declares the LORD. 9 "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts. 10
James 1: 5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
Therefore David explains that this knowledge is too wonderful for us. It is too high for us to understand. Man cannot begin to fathom the complexity of creation. When we come up against it we stand in awe.
To understand God's Word we need to get into it and stay in it so that we can understand truth which will set us free from that way that seems right unto man but ends in death.
John 7:17 "If anyone is willing to do His will, he will know of the teaching, whether it is of God or whether I speak from Myself.
Deuteronomy 4:2 "You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
It is also important in understanding God's way to have a heart that is willing to do what God says. Our natural stubbornness makes us want to make up our own minds and do what we think is right. We must have a heart that is willing to obey.
As we travel along on our spiritual journey we need to learn as we go. Our natural ways are not God's way and so there must be a relearning of all that is natural thinking so that we think as God thinks. God gives us wisdom through His word and understanding through His creation and direction through authority and especially through parents. We have all the resourses we need to understand what God wants for each one of us.
We have our work cut out for us, don't we? Lets go on.

Prov 1: 8 Hear, my son, your father's instruction And do not forsake your mother's teaching; 9 Indeed, they are a graceful wreath to your head And ornaments about your neck.
Proverbs 30:6 Do not add to His words, Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar
Revelation 22:18 . For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book;
I Cor 4: 6 ...that in us you might learn not to exceed what is written, that none of you may be puffed up on behalf of one against the other.
The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. 2 Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. 3 [There is] no speech nor language [Where] their voice is not heard. 4 Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world.
God is the Creator.
The power of creation lies in God's ability to create something from nothing and to give life.
Romans 4:17 ... God, who gives life to the dead and calls into being that which does not exist.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Romans 11:33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! 34 For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, OR WHO BECAME HIS COUNSELOR ? 35 Or WHO HAS FIRST GIVEN TO HIM THAT IT MIGHT BE PAID BACK TO HIM AGAIN ? 36 For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.
Psalms 139:6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is too high, I cannot attain to it.
Solomon encourage people to hang on to the instruction of parents.
14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.
In God's creation He shows clearly to all mankind His great power and nature. Because it is so clearly seen, no man has an excuse that he did not know about God.
Every man on earth can see it regardless of what nation he lives in or what language he speaks.
But even though God's divine nature is clearly seen the natural man cannot understand and accept it because God can only be understood in the spiritual part of man.
Isaiah tells us just how high God's ways are from man's. God's ways and man's ways are not the same, nor are God's thoughts and our thoughts the same. From the very beginning of our spiritual journey we need to understand that there will be a relearning of all that we know from man's thoughts to God's thoughts.
The apostle Paul praises the wisdom and knowledge of God and explains how impossible it is for man to understand God.
We are warned to honour the Word of God by not adding to it or taking away from it.
Solomon warned that God would rebuke those who added to His words.
The last words in the Bible warn of the consequences of those who would add to God's Word or take away from them.
Paul also warns us not to go beyond and exceed what is written in God's Word.
Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
Exodus 20:11 "For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day;
Everything in existance has been created by Him.
From the very beginning of our spiritual journey we need to understand that there will be a relearning of all that we know from man's thoughts to God's thoughts. Without this there will be no transformation from conformity to the world to conformity to the ways of Christ.
