<<   Lesson # 3 A 5   >>
So, if the direction that we are heading is towards righteousness then eventually everything that is evil must go.  That is what the Bible teaches us.  If anyone tells you that it is all right to do something that is wrong, or to stay in anything that is wrong,  that is false teaching.  Sound doctrine will always lead you out of evil in all its forms.
There is an idea that is around today that is absolutly devastating to the Christian life. It reasons that since God is such a wonderful God of love and kindness and forgiveness it really doesn't matter if we fall into evil because God will forgive us for it and make everything right. So why not enjoy the pleasures that come with things that are wrong and then later make everything right with the Lord.
That idea does a lot of damage to the Christian and they suffer for it throughout their lives.  The Bible tells us in Galatians 6:7-8 "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.   8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life."   God is particularly to be feared in this area.  For God will not be mocked and that is a mockery of God.  The one who sows to the flesh will from the flesh reap corruprion.  This attitude will bring a corrupted life and the consequences will be sorrowful indeed.
I would certainly advise every young believer to walk in their Christian lives making every effort to stay away from evil and seek after righteousness always if they would have the continual blessing of God.
