Genesis 6:12 God looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth.
Genesis 18:19 "For I have chosen him, so that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing righteousness and justice..."
Exodus 18:20 then teach them the statutes and the laws, and make known to them the way in which they are to walk and the work they are to do.
Proverbs 4:11 I have directed you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in upright paths
Proverbs 4:19 The way of the wicked is like darkness; They do not know over what they stumble.
Proverbs 12:28 In the way of righteousness is life, And in its pathway there is no death.
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seems right to a man, But its end is the way of dea
Isaiah 55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way And the unrighteous man his thoughts; And let him return to the LORD, And He will have compassion on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.
1 Cor 9:24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win.
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
James 5:20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.
After sinning in the Garden of Eden man quickly fell away from the way that God designed for him to live.
God chose Abraham to be the father of many peoples that would follow God and live in the way that God wanted. The way of righteousness and justice.
God raised up Moses to lead His children out of Egypt and give them a law which would make God's way known unto them.
In the Law God demanded complete obedience. They were to walk in ALL the way that God commanded.
David learned God's way and became a "man after God's own heart". He knew that the righteous were living God's way but the wicked would perish.
Deuteronomy 5:33 "You shall walk in all the way that the Lord your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you.
Solomon, the son of David, became the wisest man that has ever lived. He taught man to live God's way which he called the way of wisdom. Wisdom is seeing life the way that God sees it.
Solomon also pointed out that the way of the wicked people was like a person walking in darkness. They would be sure to stumble and fall.
He pointed out that life lay in God's way and that there would be no death in the future for those who followed God. That's eternal life.
Solomon cautioned people not to trust their own thinking because things that seemed right would lead to death.
Isaiah, the great prophet of Israel, summed it all up in this verse: He said the wicked people need to put away their ways and turn to the Lord for compassion because God is a God of mercy and will pardon them and have compassion on them.
The choice has always been before people as Jeremiah wrote in this verse. There is the way of life, and there is the way of death. It is your life - choose
Matthew 7:13-14 "Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.
When Jesus came to earth he explained further the two ways of life. He said one was broad and lots of people would follow it, but the other was narrow and few people would find it.
Jeremiah 21:8 "You shall also say to this people, `Thus says the LORD, "Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of death.
Paul the great apostle to the gentiles (non Jews) compares life to a race and encourages all of us to run that race like we wanted to win. The prize is eternal life so it is worth whatever effort is needed.
The writter of the book of Hebrews, a great book of doctrine, points out the doctrine behind this new and living way. It comes to us through the flesh (death) of Jesus Christ.
James, the brother of Jesus, tells us that this way is so important that we should seek to tell others about it because if we can turn people from the wrong way we will save their souls from death. (Hell)
Hebrews 10:20 by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh,
1 Peter 1:18 knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.
Peter, that great apostle and close friend of Jesus, writes in his book telling us that it is the blood of Jesus Christ that redeems (purchases us) from the wrong way of life. His point is that the payment is not like silver and gold that will pass away, but the payment for our sins is the eternal blood of Jesus.
Peter gives us one final warning about the way of life and warns against those who have forsaken the right way and followed the way of unrighteousness. They will reap eternal death
God is very clear in His Word about there being two ways that a person can choose, the way of life and the way of death. It is important for each of us to face these facts and decide which way is for us. It is the most important decision you will make in your life because it will decide your future for all of eternity.
Now that you have read what the Bible has to say about God's way, lets go on and pick up on our study
