Jacksonville The Greenbrier Light
Witnesses saw what looked like a headlight which went off the side of the road
and disappeared. Photos taken of it show nothing except a stark
white exposure. People have seen a ghostly motorcycle and rider crash.
The area is now a paved highway rather than a dirt road and the surrounding woods have been cleared out. It only seems to appear after several
trips up and down the area.
Magee, Broadcountry Cinema 3
It sits just off of Highway 49. There are dozens of reports of paranormal phenomenon. These strange happenings started when the building was still under construction. Owner Butch McCall was showing a friend around, who became convinced that the place was haunted. Nearly a decade later, McCall and his employees had their first paranormal encounter with the woman they call the Lady in Red. The Lady in Red is associated with the red room, one of three auditoriums. Several people have seen her.
McCall describes her as having long black-brown hair and wearing a long, red period dress. He said, "She always seems to be heading in the direction of what we refer to as the red auditorium or the middle-sized auditorium." Projectionist Chuck McLain said he noticed someone going in the red auditorium. When he looked up and they were gone. McCall has also spotted her in the projection room, but a few encounters have taken place outside the red room and the projection room.
McLain recalled, "I heard someone say 'Hey!' There was nobody in here but me."
McCall says visitors with no prior knowledge of the cinema's ghost ask him if anyone has ever informed him or if he knows that his theatre is haunted. The areas with the most sightings are the red room and the projection room. A picture was taken on the stairs leading to the projection room in which two orbs are clearly visible.
The most compelling pictures were taken in the red room, which contain some of the largest orbs ever captured by "Unexplained" investigators. The large orbs are in different locations in the pictures. Used in the investigation was a Tri-field meter, also called a ghost detector. In the blue theater, the meter's tone fluctuated while the room was empty.
Sartartia
On the edge of the Mississippi Delta sits the quiet town of Satartia. Residents of the town began to see yellow-green, bubbling water and started to hear moaning and other strange sounds. Texas ghost hunter, and original Unexplained contributor, Janice Raley says she was directed to this spot by an old farmer who recounted a similar experience from years before. Raley says the experience was coupled with the smell of rotting flesh, an overwhelming sense of panic and a voice inside her head telling her it was time to leave.
As soon as the Unexplained investigative team arrived they began having equipment problems. They lost battery power on their Sony Mavica digital camera after only a few shots. They placed a Trifield meter near the area in which they were working. It immediately began chattering erratically. Before long, they started to see things as well. One team member noticed two or three red flickers out over the river. Minutes, later there was something behind them. As they attempted to describe the figure, the microphone went dead. They had the sensation that something was watching them. They saw a mist that was upright. It went across the path they came up, moving right to left and then went into the corn.
Three weeks later with a full moon, the team returned to gather more evidence. we encountered equipment problems. Photographer Drew Foster's audio board on his news camera was damaged beyond repair. Orb images collected at this location varied in size, color, and intensity. One photo taken has two orbs clearly present with a flying insect.
One picture was of a shadowy figure perched at the top of some trees. It was a clear night and there wasnt anything behind the tree upon which a shadow could be cast. It closely resembled the misty figure they witnessed weeks before.
