Shook's Run
This park runs through downtown in the form of a stream and goes underneath a bridge by Boulder St. This area gives off extremely unpleasant vibrations and staying underneath the bridge for prolonged periods of time has been known to make people sick and sometimes suicidal. One area of the park by the Evergreen Cemtary has a particuarly unpleasant aura and is known for extreme drops in temperature.

Garden of the Gods
This area was marked by Indians long ago as a place for worship of their gods. Noises of coyoties have been heard when there were none in the area. A certain area of trees by one of the exits of the park is reportedly haunted. Numerous pictures have been taken there of orbs and large black and white shapes have been seen on the hills surrounding the area. The trees themselves give off an aura of evil and unpleasantness and many psychics and sensative people have refused to enter the area. Strange noises have been heard, car horns have reportedly gone off on their own and there is a certain area back from the trees that seems even more unpleasant. There are three old trees where people have said that they felt Indians may have been murdered and hung within. The trees themselves have several branches that hang low to the ground as if pulled down by a large weight. People have complained of being touched in this area when no one was around. There is a certain log of wood that brings rather strange mental images when one stands upon it.

The Lowell School
Located next to the police department downtown, the school has recently been remodled and put back into use. Before that it had sat many years abandoned and served as a squatting site for homeless children and other vagrants. Tales abound that it was shut down after the murder of several teenage students down in the school basement. Reportedly a line of blood used to run around the basement walls. The entire basement area was infused with an aura of unpleasantness, which persuaded many people not to enter it. The pet of a homeless child was found with its head smashed in down in the basement.
One of the old classrooms had a pentacle traced in chalk upon the floor and most of the blackboards used to display old-fashioned looking drawings of ghosts and other unpleasant scenes.

Monument Valley Park
Located in the midst of downtown the park is quite large and certain areas of it serve as a home to the city's homeless population. A pagan group known as the Earth Spirit Pagans perform rituals at one end of the park in an area they describe as the Grove. Across the bridge, not too far into the park, a headless spectar has been seen wearing a long black duster, army boots and carrying a sword.
A Witness Account
Several years ago I was dating a man who claimed to hear voices in his head. He said that it was a disapproving female voice who asked him questions, and he wanted to perform some sort of meditation to find out where the voice was coming from. At this time we were sitting in MVP, near the entrance, just across the bridge. There was a tree directly behind us. As he began to do his thing, I was almost immediately startled by the apparition of a headless man, appearing out of thin air from behind the tree. He was wearing a long duster and seemed faintly militant. I could hear his large boots and the unsheathing of his sword as he passed me by. It was so intense and moving for me that I immediately burst into tears.

Adams Mark on Cascade - formerly The Antler's Hotel - There are at least three ghosts known. One hangs out after hours in the bar Judge Baldwins. The other is a woman in a long gown seen coming down a back flight of stairs. The third is a suicide on prom night in the 70's of a young girl in one of the rooms.

Arby's - around 1996 to 1997 a manager was shot in the Arby's parking lot by one of her own employees. There has been whispering in the lobby, things moving from where you had put them to somewhere else in the store. Things only happen when a person is alone. People have seen a lady walk from the front of the kitchen all the way out the back door. Sometimes when the opener is alone in the morning they may hear their name being called by a man. When you close the store and put the chairs up the same 12 chairs every night will be found the next morning or later that night down again when no one was anywhere near them.

Broadmoor Hotel - There was once a fire in this hotel. Guests have claimed to hear the ghosts of the fire victims.

Cave of the Winds - The tour guides are full of ghost stories. Tales abound of old explorers, eerie disembodied voices, weird scents and mummies wandering the caves.
The Gazette, CO Springs, Go Section

Cheyenne Canyon - Helen Hunt falls - Helen's grave is up a little higher in the mountains in a place called Gold Camp Road. An average of five people die around the Gold Camp area each year.

Community Prep High School, previously Garfield Elementary - About 40 years ago two 3rd graders committed suicide in one of the rooms down stairs. You can feel the coldness of the two elementary students presence. Students who go there say they see and hear the voices of the two children. One student said that when they were down in the room they felt something pulling their hair while sitting down in the classroom. Until this day you can still smell what the dead bodies smell like.

Coronado High School
When the school first opened in the seventies, the pool was open to the public. Reportedly, a lifeguard invited his girlfriend and her little sister to do some swimming after hours. While the couple was making out in what is now the girl's coaches office, the little girl drowned in the pool. Early mornings in the pool, a little girl in a bathing suit can be seen sitting in the far corner of the pool area. Strange cold spots or things rubbing against swimmers have also been reported.

Devonshire Square Apartments - The apartment is pretty old. At least four people in the building have seen an apparition in the sauna, which is in the weight room, and every time it has been described as disappearing once the person entered the room.

Harrison High School Auditorium
It is said that the ghost of a young thespian named Malcom haunts this Auditorium. You can hear his footsteps on the stage and catwalk. If you venture up to the catwalk area you may see a glowing light coming from no light source. Once a young woman slipped on the catwalk and nearly fell to what could have been her death when she felt someone grab a hold of her, pulling her back to safety. When she caught her breath and looked for her hero, she found no one, but felt something brush her cheek as if being kissed.

Liberty High School Auditorium During the building of the Catwalk, a man fell and landed on the seats, breaking his back. He suffered a long death. During shows he will occasionally turn off/on one or two lights. If you sit on the stage in the dark you will head footsteps on the catwalk then the sound of something falling.

night club - In the 1950's, a previous owner shot her husband and than hanged herself in the basement. Almost all employees have heard whispering or seen her ghost.

Palmer High School
In the sixties or seventies, a student hung herself in the first floor restroom after being denied a role in a production of Macbeth on its opening night in the school auditorium. Poltergeist-like activities occur when someone in the school auditorium says 'Macbeth' just prior to the premier of a play cr performance. Such occurrences can be disastrous, leading to the termination of the production due to damages done on stage. This is often accompanied by the sound of the empty seats in the balcony being opened and closed. During an assembly in the spring of 1998, a noose was seen hung above those seats.

Pioneer's Museum - It is supposedly haunted by a manager who was shot dead by an employee over a pay dispute around 1959. The security guards who have to patrol the museum at night try to avoid the guy's former apartment because they feel very uneasy there.

Rockrimmon - McDonalds - Legend has it that the building site was previously an Indian burial ground. Currently during business hours employees had reported hearing children scream as if they are being killed, along with children playing around the fryers. It is said at night during closing hours a Indian chief has been known to shut off lights, push people and move things. Along with things opening closing and starting by themselves.

St. Francis Hospital
The room formerly used as the tuberculosis ward, is now a records room. There are at least two spirits that have been reported to haunt the area. One will often come behind nurses in the room and ask in a muffled voice, "What ya doin?" Another spirit was reported to have locked an employee in a closet.

Wendys - A few days after it opened, one of the workers was closing up and he went to empty the trash and found the body of a dead girl about the age of 16 in a ballerina costume. Late at night you can hear her calling the name "Tommy" and the sound of soft music.

Chapel Hills K-Mart - There have been reports of displays being knocked over and strange noises back in the Garden Shop. Employees who have had to open the Garden Shop early in the mornings have reported cold spots and the feeling of someone brushing against them as they've gone through the ailes. The occurrences have been attributed to a former manager there by the name of Carl who passed away in 1998.
