This house is said to have been built around the turn of the century by an elderly man with many children. When the man died in the 1940's of old age, he left his spirit behind in the home. The apparition drags people out of their beds during the night, leaving them in the hallway. The man also has an affinity for doors-every door in the house that is left open is always found closed again.

In 1911, a man and his fiance lived in this house. On the night before their wedding, the two got into a fight and the woman was pushed down the stairs. She died. The man then buried his would-be-bride behind the house. If you pass her grave, you will sometimes see the woman in a white grown floating around the area.

On the grounds of the air force base is said to be a haunted plane, that a pilot died in. Since residing at the museum, the plane has been known to have lights going on and off and moving figures have been noticed. On the exterior of the plane is written "Raising Hell."
Bodega two hours north of San Francisco
Charlene Weber converted her old barn into a doll museum, which contains the effigy of a little girl who died at the age of eight. The doll was made using the girl�s death mask, hair, and eye lashes. One night the glass in front of the doll�s case shattered and the doll was found in the middle of the room, crying with a sad expression on its face as its eyes followed Charlene.
The footsteps of a person with a limp are heard climbing the house�s stairs late at night. A man dressed in a black or very-dark gray 19th century suit has been seen leaning over a crib containing a sick child. A tall, bearded man dressed in Lincolnesque attire has been seen walking with a limp. Once the man opened the door on a woman in the bathroom and vanished when she screamed. It seems that someone often is following the occupants around the house when no one is there.
Vineyard House in Coloma, a half hour�s drive along a winding road north of Placerville
Contains five ghosts, a woman who chained her husband to the wall, her husband, two young men, seventeen and twenty years old, and a perpetually dying old man. The house is reported to have strange noises and unexplained happenings. The first bedroom�s bed would always mess itself up. Sometimes strange music would play in that bedroom. The beds shake and people complain of having their feet touched. Footsteps are heard on the stairs, and whole stacks of dishes have shattered for no apparent reason. Talking and laughing has been heard. Lights have been seen on the walls. Martial music has been heard in one of the rooms. Doorknobs turn without anyone on the other side.

The depot was once a house owned by Mr. Beck. One fall evening as he was raking his yard, he fell into a hole and died. He now haunts the depot. Mr. Beck is a friendly ghost. He changes radio stations from rock to classical. He goes through the drivers' laundry, placing their socks on the door knobs.

This hotel is frequented by apparitions of the female persuasion. While having dinner at the restaurant, one woman was constantly kicked in the leg, though no one was at the table with her. She also reported a loud crash just a few minutes later in the kitchen. After the crash, she felt a breeze rush past her as the doors behind her swung open and closed again. Employees will confirm many of the strange occurrences.

Several miles away from most civilization lies a house known as The Boonies. It is said that an insane man and his rabbits lived in this house. The rabbits were all shaved. During the night, passers by would see a faint red glow coming from the house; they would also hear a high pitched wailing. The next day, rabbits with red skin would be seen running through the neighborhoods.

This site, which now lies deep in the woods, was once a mental institution for many "crazy" children in the 1930s. There is also a hospital associated with the abandoned cabins that lies 10 miles away. Children who misbehaved were strapped to the beds with belts and beaten until they were unconscious. Many of the children were killed due to this cruelty, the facility was closed and the gate around the hospital's perimeter was chained closed. Many have seen lights in the windows and shadows of children.

During the Prohibition era of the 1920s, a young woman was murdered after her lover found her with another man who was employed at the site. "The Lady in Blue," lurks around the cliffs surrounding the building. She warns children not to play too close to the edge. In the area. There have been numerous reports of poltergeist activity, including incessant telephone ringing, cases of wine being stacked behind the door leading to a windowless storage room, objects randomly being thrown about, and doors mysteriously slamming.

Built in 1916, currently it is a Spa Resort with a haunted room; room 419. Exactly what or whom the room is haunted by is unknown, but there have been many complaints from the occupants of suites surrounding the room. They constantly complain of noises and pounding, but nothing is ever found.

This house is alleged to have a haunted bathroom. Late one night a woman was home alone and decided to use the restroom. On the toilet, she saw a smallish looking person. Sounds that appeared to be water dripping came from the restroom. When it was checked, there were no leaky faucets.

A woman was killed in an elevator crash. Many employees at the site have reported seeing a female apparition on the third floor of the building. There have been noises of stocked merchandise being knocked over on the floor. Many believe it is the ghost of the woman.

It is said that during quiet summer's nights horses are heard galloping down the road, though there are none around. Many have heard horses galloping toward them in broad daylight, while they have seen nothing.

It is said that in a school a young girl died in the nurse's office. The grounds of the school are haunted by the little girl. The swings go by themselves - even though the wind is calm. Sometimes, one may even hear a girl whispering to them on the playground. If anyone knocks on the door of the nurses office, it knocks back!

When this house was being built in 1996, a worker accused a coworker of having an affair with his wife. In a bitter fit of rage, the worker killed the supposed adulterer, and buried him in the foundation of the house. Today, the neighbors living around the house have reported observing a silhouette of a man with a nail in his chest hammering boards and pieces of furniture.
An investigation of the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento in October 2002 yielded significant evidence of a haunting.
The Sacramento Theatre Company at 1419 H Street in downtown Sacramento has documented strong paranormal activity. Several anomalous light patterns recorded on infrared film at the same time two psychics were holding a meditative s�ance to conjure up spirits. At 3:00 AM in secure section of the auditorium, disembodied footsteps were recorded on audio tape. The 50-year-old vaudeville stage is home to a ghost that employees have named Pinky � because of the pinkish aura it manifests. The apparition has been seen on numerous occasions and is even credited with warning electricians of the impending collapse of an overhead lightbar. Several people could have been seriously injured had they not evacuated the area because of Pinky's ghost. In the last four years, psychics have detected the presence of five other spirits in the building.
