Elkhart - Elkhart Cemetery - This is the cemetery where Governor Ogelsby is buried. The ghost of his wife visits his tomb. She will be seen sitting outside his tomb for a few minutes when a group of Indian ghosts come up and chase her off across the bridge leading over the road by the cemetery. On a path over the fence, at the back of the cemetery, going up the hill you can hear voices and footsteps through the woods and you can see black apparitions watching you. At the top of the hill the path branches and you have to pick which way to go but you have to pick correctly or you don't come back.
Evergreen Park - Evergreen Cemetery - 87th St.& Kedzie Ave.
A young girl, 12 to 14 years of age, haunta one of the CTA bus stops along 87th St. She will board a bus at night and go immediately go to the back of the bus, without paying the fare. When the driver turns around to tell her to pay, the bus is empty. Some drivers of cars on 87th St. have reported seeing "heads" floating above gravestones and people sitting on some of the stone benches in the cemetery at night.
The Boundaries of the cemetery are 87th St. to the north, 91st St. to the south, Kedzie Ave. to the B & O Railroad tracks to the west. On the other side of the tracks is a separate cemetery, St. Mary's.
St. Mary's Cemetery - The boundaries of this cemetery are the B & O railroad tracks which cross 87th St. on the east side, Pulaski Rd. on the west, 87th St. on the north, and 91st St. on the south. St. Mary's has a fence going completely around it, with the main gate on 87th St. and a smaller gate on 91st St. located between Homan and Trumbull Avenues. Late night drivers on 91st St. have reported seeing someone leaning against a fence post along the fence bordering the railroad tracks, with his arms folding across his chest. One driver reported that the figure seemed to react to his driving by, by placing his hands on his knees and crouching down, as if to look at him from under the branches of the tree between them, after which the figure disappeared. Several deaths, all violent, have happened in and around the cemetery. The first death was in 1927 at a restaurant/speakeasy located along the tracks. At that time many funerals came to the cemetery by train, where the party would have the funeral, then have the after funeral lunch at the restaurant while waiting for the return train. At this restaurant, known as "Vinegar Hill", one of the Westside O'Bannion Brothers was murdered by the Capone Mob. The next death happened in 1933, on the tracks, about 30 yards south of 91st. At this spot occurred the last daylight Train Robbery in the U.S. One of the robbers was killed during the robbery and never identified, the other robber was never caught, and the money never recovered.
Elgin - Ellis Middle School - The auditorium is haunted by a woman in a white lace dress, who can only be seen in the hallways backstage.

He walks down the side aisle in the sanctuary, coming out from behind one pillar and walking behind the next, but if you look behind the pillar, no one will be there. There are no doors or windows that he could have gone through, and no one in a black business suit was in the room.

St Paul, the Forpaugh's Restaurant in The restaurant was the site of a woman's suicide. She was a maid in the house at the time and she killed herself because she became pregnant by the man whom she worked for. His name may have been Forpaugh. The hauntings are attributed to this woman who killed herself and include bus carts moving by themselves across the floor, dishes and silverware rearranging themselves, and unexplained lit candles appearing in the second story window.

Haunted Family
Throughout my lifetime I've had many paranormal experiences. As a child
I could see and communicate with my Spirit Guide, Betty. Several of my siblings have had sightings of angels
and ghosts/spirits, and my brother Jonathan actually experiences things
continually. My family lives in an area called Jackson, grounds where
Indian arrow heads have been found. Jonathan says that once at age
nine he was in bed when he saw an army of Indians on horses charging toward
him with arrows and shafts in their hands yelling and shouting. I've noticed little things that happened
around our apartments, such as in our second one we would
come home to all the doors being unlocked and wide open, but nothing was
ever missing. Things moving to different shelves in the
refrigerator within a matter of seconds. In our present apartment, the
clocks have been changed back an hour, lights turn off, the baby's
song toys turn on by themselves, and I hear someone coming home downstairs
when nobody is there. I heard my cat's name being whispered right by my
ear
I have felt someone touching me when nobody is around, once
in the shower, once in the bathroom and once in bed.
While our baby girl is sleeping I think I hear her laughing and playing
but when I check on her she is sound asleep. One night I was
almost asleep when I was startled awake by what sounded like a wet
raspberry and my husband jumped up at the same time and wiped his cheek
off then drifted back to sleep. I looked above us and could see a small
shadowy wispy energy floating over my husband, and then float back over
to the baby's cradle.
Both of our cats and the baby seem to notice and watch things that aren't there. Our small cat was
aware of an unpleasant presence in the living room. She
stood in the hallway with her tail fluffed out like a squirrel�s and
crouched down low staring at this entity that was invading her
territory. Hubby and I could feel the presence of whatever it was, the
energy was high and tense.

Petersburg, downtown apartments
Late in 2000, one of the first SPIRITS investigations brought the team
to the home of two sisters residing on the edge of downtown St.
Petersburg. Inside the apartment there was a tangible shift in the atmosphere, immediately sensed by all three investigators. The place seemed heavy and dark.
EMF was recorded. Temperature fluctuations were at a minimal.
Photographs showed only trace amounts of haunting activity, mostly auras
and possible odd shadows.
The women described a shadowy presence, abnormal and antisocial
behavior by the otherwise friendly dog, and strange noises that couldn�t
be explained. One teammate sensed the presence of energy in an area where the
ladies explained they captured odd images in photographs.
Horatio Street Three apartments in a single building reported strange happenings. A couple of people correctly sensed areas of reported
haunting activities. One of the apartments hosted the spirit of the woman�s deceased grandmother, who had formerly acted as the building manager. At night, she would wake to the sounds of shuffling feet or the grandmother�s call for help when, in life, she
fell in the kitchen, breaking a hip. Another had utensils disappear
and reappear, cold breezes, and the smell of perfume. From time to time an
abnormally dark area manifested late at night. The third had the
simple sensation of a presence sitting down on her bed as she rested.
The building, itself, contained a high number of tenant deaths. A couple died in traffic fatalities, one died from choking.
Unusual amounts of EMF were picked up through the building, but
EVP sessions were negative. Temperatures did not fluctuate, and only
one orb image appeared. Some who considered themselves normally
sensitive felt very little during the investigation, other than an
occasional sense of an entity that quickly faded again.

Ghostly Footsteps
It was late at night, and I was home alone channel surfing. I started
to hear footsteps moving around upstairs. It went on for a few minutes, and I yelled out,
"Please be quiet!" The footsteps stopped and I heard this little boom.
Nothing happened for about two minutes, but then the footsteps from
upstairs started up again, a little louder. They
moved almost to the stairway. I yelled out "Be quiet!" again. There was a boom that was a little louder, and the footsteps stopped. But a little while later the footsteps
started again, and this time they were really loud, and they were going
almost all the way down the stairs and back up again. I screamed out at the
top of my lungs "Shut up!" There was this huge deafening boom that
literally rattled the whole house. Nothing else
happened that night.

Coaldale The rocking chair would
move all on it's own. In the middle of the night the TV would turn on so loud everyone would wake up. It would happen when everyone was in bed sleeping. The two dogs would stare and bark into the kitchen. When that happened the family would get a strange feeling and the hair on their arms would stand up. One of the children claimed she had seen a black figure standing at the bottom of her bed. In 1997 the mother�s brother was killed. The night before his viewing, she got clothes together and while she was ironing them, the lights kept flickering, the iron's plug pulled out by itself, and one of the kitchen chairs flew across to the sink.

Most of my stuff is back. The purse was where he said in Carima�s apartment and I have my I.D.�s back. Cashed the checks, money�s all gone though because I had to pay a bond to get out of jail. Lucifer�s taking credit for that naturally. She�s seeing Simon tonight and I�m supposed to do a spell for them before they go. Red or blue candle. Maybe I�ll draw some pictures of desired results. She can sleep on them. That can be my thank you.
No longer speaking to my mother, ever again. Not happy with Pierre. He�s been lying and telling Cameron that I�m a stupid cunt for staying with Leslie. As if I have a choice. There will be words. He�s promised me a chest to put my stuff in. Hope he comes tonight.
Leslie wants a divination. I figured a glass bowl of water with a red candle on the right side over a picture of her and a white candle on the left over a picture of him. At night outside. Poly students set suspected cult members ablaze
With the resurgence of cult activities in the nation�s tertiary institutions of learning, a whirl of violence swept through the Ondo State Polytechnic, Owo, yesterday, leaving five suspected cult members dead.
Also yesterday, a second year female student of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, was allegedly assaulted by her colleagues who shaved her pubic hairs.
The outbreak of violence in the Ondo Polytechnic which was the third in the town within one week, led to the closure of the institution.
Trouble reportedly started at the Polytechnic when the student population early yesterday morning mobilized themselves to seek the release of a first-year female student who was said to have been abducted by a cult group since last Tuesday.
Their search, took them to the off-campus residence of a suspected cult member who, although confessed to being one of the kidnappers, refused to disclose the whereabouts of the abducted student.
Amid the exchange of words, the students in a moment of blind fury, suspecting that the abducted student might have been killed and dumped somewhere, decided on instant justice. They marched the suspected cult member to the main gate of the institution, where he was tied down, drenched in petrol and set ablaze.
Searches for the other cult members took the students to various halls of residents, mostly located off-campus, where four other suspects were given the same treatment.
Around 3 p.m. yesterday witnesses said the remains of the first suspect were still smouldering at the campus entrance.
In the ensuing pandemonium, most of the students, especially the females, fled the campus while Owo residents who had wards in the school were said to have gone to the institution to rescue their children.
Only last month, the institution�s acting Rector, Bolu Ogundowole at a press conference in Akure to mark his first anniversary in office, said the student Cadet Corps, which the authorities gave the mandate of stamping out the menace of cultism, were being encouraged on all fronts.
Expressing the belief that some of the cult members were not, in fact, students of the institution, the Rector said, �all hands are already on the deck to keep the students busy with sporting activities on campus.�
Last year a member of the student corps was shot in both eyes, leaving him totally blind in a suspected reprisal attempt by cult members.
At the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, it was learnt that the gang leader, a female, borrowed the sum of N5, 000 from the victim, after which she refunded N4,000 and refused to make up the balance of N1,000. When the victim demanded her money, the gang leader threatened her life. She reportedly invited the victim into her room, where other assailants were waiting.
As soon as the victim appeared, they pounced on her and shaved her head and pubic hairs with a blunt razor blade and scissors. They gave her severe cuts all over her body, before forcing her outside the room, naked.
