Spell to Summon & Bind Elves By Mercedes Lackey
Spread out four cords, green, red, black and white. Place your tribute and a white candle inside the cords. Take the green cord and tie it into the patterns of a Celtic knot. Say,
Fair folk who have danced in the wood, on the green-
I would call, I would beg, to your king, to your queen,
To you who listen, all unseen,
I bind your ears with my knot of green.
Lay in one corner of the circle and secure firmly to the ground. Take up the black cord and tie into another Celtic pattern. Say,
Faerie folk with the strength I lack,
I dare not run, nor dare attack,
But I summon you still and call you back-
I bind your eyes with my knot of black.
Place in another corner of the circle. Take the red cord and tie it into a knot, saying,
Fey folk drawn from board and bed,
Gifts I offer to quick and dead,
Think of me kindly whom I have led,
I bind your oath with my cord of red.
At the fourth corner, take up the white cord, knot it and say,
Old ones come from the long twilight,
Brought to the world of day and night,
I ask your aide to make wrong right.
I bind you with my cord of white.
Light the candle and say,
Now you are drawn from your Faerie mound,
And led by my beacon to this ground.
To my circle shall you be bound,
Until my knots are all unwound.
Using a blue writing utensil, draw a protective rune on the palm of your left hand. Using green, draw the same symbol on the palm of your right hand. Pick up your offering and wait for the fey folk to appear.
