| TITLE: HOLES AUTHOR: LOUIS SACHAR RECOMMENDED READING AGE:8-13 |
||||||||||||||||||||
| Holes is a brilliant book. It is the story of a boy who is falsely accused of stealing the shoes of a famous athlete. He is then sentenced to a camp for juvenile delinquents, where he has to dig a deep hole everyday. The camp claims that the reason for digging the hole is to build character, but it's really to find a secret treasure left behind by a since-deceased criminal. Louis Sachar works magic with this book. From beginning to end her book flows seamlessly and is finished by arguably the greatest ending for any childrens book ever. If you have not read Holes you dont know what you are missing. | ||||||||||||||||||||
