What is a childless stepmom (CSM)?
A childless stepmom is a very special woman who has no children but is married to or dating a man who has children from a previous relationship. So she is a stepmom with no biological children of her own.
What is a former childless stepmom (FCSM)?
A woman who was a childless stepmom but has since had children with her husband or partner either biologically or through adoption.
What is Childless Stepmoms Chat?
Childless Stepmoms Chat is a community of women who are both childless stepmoms and former childless stepmoms. It is a message board community and the members post messages and reply to each other, giving advice and help as well as a listening ear. It is a great place to find others who understand what everyone else is going through, it's a very supportive and caring group. Many friendships have been made and continue to be made in the community.
Being a childless stepmom is a unique experience, different in many ways from being a stepmom who has her own children. Even after a CSM has children of her own there are unique challenges that she faces that are unique to being a former childless stepmom. For that reason we don't kick people out of the community just because they have children, we want them to stay around and give us their vaulable wisdom!! This board belongs to ALL of the members not just the administrators which means that everyone is equally important.
Childless Stepmoms Chat was created by a childless stepmom who struggled a great deal in the early part of her marriage dealing with her husband, his child, his ex and the complicated situations surrounding being a childless stepmom. Her story can be found at Cool Steppie's Place. Having online support for childless stepmoms was very helpful for her, but since she planned on having her own children she wanted to create a community that welcomed former CSMs with open arms just as much as current CSMs. Childless Stepmoms Chat is also affiliated with the Stepfamily Help Page.
