Appearance: |
Aizu dresses like how she feels. Wearing anything that attracts her attention and is comfortable and vibrant, Aizu often wears outfits of mismatched colors and patterns or old-fashioned dresses. She also wears the newest trends from prominent fashion designers, which she gets from her model shoots. Odd and uniquely vivid, Aizu's fashions always seem to flow together no matter what in a distinctive style all her own.

Background: |
You see one minute, Aizu
is brash, adventurous, dominant, outgoing and very social. She tends to like
life with a lot of thrills per minute, finding the rush of adrenaline her
once source of entertainment. She stands out in a crowd, has a great attitude
and personal magnetism. And, the next she's uncertain, forlorn, and
dependent. Aizu appears to have a penchant for impulsive sexual relationships
during these times too. She can seem unconfident and touchy while making
frantic attempts to avoid abandonment, real or imagined, or having rapid mood
swings. Or Aizu might seem cold and unapproachable. Brusque and bitchy with a
sharp tongue, she distances herself from others. During these
"distant" phases,
This complexity comes from her unique childhood. Moreover, it was diagnosed as Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) with chronic, debilitating mood swings.
"Borderline Personality Disorder. An instability of self-image, relationships and mood... uncertain about goals, impulsive in activities that are self-damaging, such as casual sex. Social contrariness and a generally pessimistic attitude are often observed."
Azura was born on the 21st of June in 1980 to a promising photographer mother and a multimillionaire restaurateur father in Kyoto. And, for the first four years of her life, Aizu enjoyed the security of a happy, close-knit family. As the baby girl of the loving family, she had caring parents and a watchful brother seven years her elder.
However, all good things must come to end... Or, so it seems.
Shortly after Aizu's fifth birthday, her mother, Belina Laroque, was caught having an affair with one of her male models. Lots of yelling and fighting ensued between her parents after that. Every night more screams and smashes of china. Her big brother, Kinsuke, would cradle little Aizu in his arms as she vainly covered her ears with tiny hands to block out the hateful sounds.
The nightly fights were soon followed by a separation and then finally divorce and all the works. Aizu and Kinsuke were given into the custody of their father, Takemori Hideto, and monthly visitations with their mother. It wasn't long before both their parents remarried and started new families with new spouses. Her mother soon gave birth to a baby boy, Yuta, with her new husband Ogawa Kenichi, a scout for a model agency. This half sibling was followed by a baby sister, Ohana, from her father and step-mother, Shuuko.
Always given less and less attention from either her mother or her father as time passed, Aizu began to feel forgotten and neglected by the spotlight attention directed at her younger half-siblings or to her older brother who was beginning to follow in their father's footsteps and had become his pride and joy. Lonely and feeling unwanted, Aizu did the only a child could do to get attention. She started misbehaving and developing "imaginary" friends to occupy herself with.
During her tumultuous adolescence, Aizu was given over to the care of a fulltime, live-in nanny, Kaede, in her father's house, and Aizu came to depend on the only person who actually "cared" for her. Aizu would often lock herself away in her room where she tried to escape the feelings of abandoment by playing with imaginary friends or throwing frequent temper tantrums or spending a week lying almost in a catatonic state in her bed. She often sang herself lullabies to fall asleep or sang when her nanny left her in the bath. Thus, her love of music was born out of loneliness and need for attention.
As she got older and entered
junior high, her nanny was let go. With her only supporter gone,
It was about one year after she started junior high that her father sent her to a psychiatrist, who tested and counseled her for a couple of months before diagnosing her with borderline personality disorder. After which, Aizu was promptly sent off by her father to a mental health clinic that specialized in troubled juveniles for the next two years of her life. Released into outpatient care just after her fifteenth birthday, it was just in time for Aizu to begin high school with her old junior high classmates.
Suki and her enrolled in the music club their freshmen year because of a shared deep appreciation for it. For Aizu music was a heavenly release and for Suki it was her life’s passion. Both girls also loved to simply play and sing Judy and Mary or Malice Mizer covers for fun in karaoke bars when time permitted.
It was at one of these fun times at a local karaoke bar after graduation that a scout for a modeling agency saw Aizu while she and Suki were playing around in the lobby waiting for a room to open up.
It didn't take much
convincing from the scout to get Aizu to sign up with the agency and begin her
modeling career. Or, for her father to allow her to pursue her career choice
on one condition -- that Aizu enroll in a local college or university and
work towards at least one degree.
Aizu mostly does photo shoots for magazines, music videos with various musicians or televised advertisements because she isn't quite tall enough for the runway.
As soon as her modeling career took off, Aizu convinced Suki to move to Tokyo with her so they could both follow their dreams. |

Activities: |
Aizu tends either not to
talk too much to others when she's keeping to her own little world or to be
extremely outgoing and attention seeking. She carries around a notebook,
which she is usually seen writing things in no matter where she goes which
often includes local coffee shops, bookstores and karaoke bars. Aizu often,
in her spare time, buries her nose into books, studying
Aizu enjoys the street racing circuit even though she is not a racer. Often she will attend the races just to get a free ride before the kick off.
Learning that to stay fit one must work out and that to protect oneself one must know the basics, Aizu enrolled herself in a self-defense class to meet both needs when she moved to Tokyo. Traveling is one of benefits of her modeling and Aizu takes full advantage of it having visited both North America and Europe on several occasions and touring the fashion centers when not in a photo shoot. Aizu has a thing for languages and finds learning them to be challenging and fun as from early childhood she learned both of her mother's native tongues -- English and French. She’s picked up a few phrases and words in various other languages from her work.

Strengths/ Weaknesses: |
However, there is also a shady side to Aizu. On her offbeats, she is susceptible to substance abuse and substantial drinking. Aizu is prone to having multiple mood swings with either bouts of energetic activity or heavy depression.

|
Motivations/ Goals: |
Aizu wants her father to actually look at her again and “see” her for who and what she is. She thinks it would be nice to finally meet and fulfill her father’s expectations but isn't pushing things. In the future, Aizu would like to take up a career in fashion design or photography if she can play her cards right. As for now, Aizu doesn’t crave fame or financial gain. All she wants is a little fun and a little bit more time to learn who she is again. What Aizu wants more than anything is just to feel sane and wanted as well as a little less alone and neglected.

Attitude: |
“Was I ever crazy? Maybe. Or maybe life is... Crazy isn't being broken or swallowing a dark secret. It's you or me amplified…”
“I know what it's like to want to die. How it hurts to smile. How you try to fit in but you can't. How you hurt yourself on the outside to try to kill the thing on the inside.” Girl-Interrupted
