Boy Hits Car may be new to many people, but this band has actually been in existence for nearly a decade. Childhood pals CRegg, Louis, and Scott formed the Los Angeles based band in 1993 and are releasing their self-titled debut for Wind-up Records.

Produced by GGGarth (Kittie), the sound quality of the album is superb. The album includes melodies, heavy rhythms, and rocking beats. The one factor that may tend to draw a bit of unique attention is the vocals, a bit whiney and bouncy at times like a cross of Wayne Coyne (The Flaming Lips), and Perry Farrell (Janes Addiction/Porno For Pyros). But if you can look beyond that then you have yourself a pretty good rock album. The first single is Im A Cloud. It begins with a soft, mellow bass and vocals intro and then kicks up a notch. The next track is Man Without Skin. This one reeled me in more than others and should make for a great radio single. One thing that Boy Hits Car has been able to do successfully is create their own sound and not follow the trends like many others. After awhile you tend to notice a pattern of the softer intros that eventually break into a bit more hardcore rock for the choruses on majority of the music. Lovecore (Welcome To) is an exception to that. Before We Die and Benkei are favorites.

This album wants to be heard and liked, This part can be achieved quite easily, but you might have to hold tight for that bouncy roller coaster ride of the higher-pitched vocals that CGregg can reach, which adds to Boyhitscar's uniqueness who knows, it might just be what you have wanted ot hear for a long time.
