A Little About Me
Name: Evelyn Leigh SimetraHi :o)  My name was not the name given to me by my parents, but it does hold a personal meaning to me.  Evelyn was my grandmothers name.  Instead of following through the paternal lineage, I can get away with following my maternal lineage.  Leigh is just a middle name I was supposed to have to make my initials spell out something cute.  If you know what my real initials are, just replace the middle initial with L.  To further myfemininity in this name, Simetra is Artemis backwards: Goddess of the Hunt.
If you're wondering why I would go throughall of the trouble to make a name, just know this: I take life too seriously. Just to assure you, the rest of the information on this page and all of the others is the bonified truth, like it or not.

Age: 20

Eyes: Green or greenish blue depending on what I'm wearing

Hair: It is brown with little streaks of goldie-locks blonde here and there.

Life History: When I was born I had a misshapen heart valve, which was corrected by medicine, but not before giving everyone quite a scare.  I was also born with a rather rare condition called "Dandy-Walker Cyst Syndrome".  In the worst of cases, the person usually ends up living as a vegetable their entire life.  This was the outlook that I was expected to have.  I was fortunate enough to have a very mild case.  The only way the syndrome impacts me is by slowing my throught process down.  An example to demonstrate what I mean is as follows:  A math problem that may take the average person a half an hour to an hour could take me from one to three hours to complete depending on the complicity and the number of steps required in processing the problem.  In addition to slowing me down, the cyst caused a slight parilization in the left side of my body.  Furthermmore, I was born blind in my left eye.          So you may be thinking, "wow" or "oh my gosh".  I have lived with these things all my life, and as some may call them impairments or disabilities, to me they are great challenges.  I will admit, I have my bouts with self pity, but I can't allow it to consume my life.  Thus far I haven't - I have graduated from high school with two awards, one for academic achievement even through my impairments or challenges, as I perfer.  The second awaerd was the "good samaritan" award.  I have also left with many other participation awards in school clubs or activities.  Though I wish I could have done more, perhaps to live like a super person, I cherish the little achievemnts I have made formyself.  It is my belief and life philosophy  that the callenges I face in my everday life have helped me to become a more sensitive and stronger character.

Where I Am Now: If you  want to know on a more regular basis how I am doing, just visit my diary.  Currently I am in community college, just coming out of a year and a half break for rehabilitation and participating in a dance troupe.  Unfortunately, it went under in November of 2003.  If it had not, I would still be in the dance troupe and not in school.  But, I appreciated my short time dancing so much so that I promised myself that I would not stop dancing from here on out.  In any case, Im finding that making friends in the real world is not as easy as in a situation where people are thrown together.  I am currently single, and still getting over my first serious relationship.  Unlike normal people, I cant find a reason to be mad at him (it would sure help in getting over him) so I will continue to love him until someone else has figured out how to capture my heart.  In the mean time, I am slowly connecting with people in my classes.  Hopefully I will be able to bring a few friendships out of this quarter.   Interests/Passions: My main interest and passion in life is writing.  I have always loved to write, and recently I have been putting together a poetry book of my own to publish in the coming years.  I also somedy will put out at least one best selling novel.  The things that I enjoy writing about consist mainly of my spiritual path, since that is what I am fovcused on right now, as well as issues women face.  I am hoping to expand my horizons on what I am writing on.  It is possible to write about anything one desires, even Okra.
Another passion of mine is dance.  Thus far I have choreographed and performed two dances.  Unfortunately for me, I do not have the freedom of having my own private dance space so much of my choreography - or messing around - is done within the small area of my living room.
Going along with dance, I devour music.  I listen to artists as far back as Billy Holiday to the latest from Michelle Branch.  I listen to a little bit of everything, rock, pop, r&b, jazz, classical, rap, classic rock, blues, techno and disco.  Quite a variety huh?  I love it all.        In addition to all of this I love to bike with friends, Kayak, go river rafting, draw, reading, hiking, camping, talking to friends via phone, e-mail or online chatting, and of course, working on my web-site.  I enjoy staying busy.  Its how I stay sane these days.Favorite Place on a Rainy Day: Cuddled up under blankets in my nice pillow-top bed listening to a good novel and sipping on a cup of hot chocolate topped with a little bit of whipped cream.  Most Relaxing Place: In a soaking tub full of hot, steamy, Lavender-smelling water surrounded by ivy and plants with a little spot for candles.  The lights are definately off.Favorite Flower: Sunflower  (it is said that if your favorite flower is the sunflwer, you are strong and earthy.)Most Cherished Moments: getting and giving hugs. Favorite Color: I love blue.  There are so many shades of blue that it is possible to have one or nearly every mood.  One might have electric blue for a particularly good hair day, or navy blue for the more drab days.  I could also use cadet blue, or sky blue for a light hearted, springy day.
