A YUKATA

A yukata differs in the sense that it is not as expensive as Kimonos. For one, it is usually worn in the summer and spring during festivals. It can also be worn at home. It is more often used than a kimono. A YUKATA?

The sleeves if you'll notices, are much shorter, and the colors made for the season.
Again, there are many different patterns to the OBI and the actual material of the YUKATA.

Underneath both the  YUKATA and the KIMONO, a JUBAN (underclothing) is worn. It's the white slip under the actual dress.
Yukatas show no meaning of marital status and/or gender. Again, most men and males would wear something darker though.
