| DeeAnn started studying the violin at the age of 8, and began dabbling in Celtic music as a teenager in between orchestra performances. Started fiddling professionally in 1991 with various Irish folk and contradance bands in California, then moved to Arkansas in 1995 and immediately went on contract at the Ozark Folk Center State Park Theater, performing with various groups over the last several years, playing mainly old-time fiddle, but also some Irish and Swing. Her playing has been featured on many recordings since she began freelancing in 1978. This includes recording a song with Willie Nelson's daughter Susie, and most recently soloing on a CD produced by Jerry Lester of The Lovin' Spoonful, recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees. DeeAnn has performed on TV, video, radio, and in the movie "The White River Kid", starring Antonio Banderas.She currently performs at the Ozark Folk Center Theater, continues to do studio work, and teaching. |
