WORLD'S TALLEST BUILDING
Taipei 101 recently became the World's tallest building at 509 metres/ 1,671 feet, taking the title from the Petronas Towers in Kualar Lumpar. Although not yet internally complete, the building is complete structually. The building contains double-decker lifts, which are rare to find in skyscrapers, and when in use will become the world's fastest lifts. Once fully complete, the skyscraper will hold three world's tallest titles to its name: tallest to structual top, tallest occupied floor, and tallest to roof level.

The skyscraper's design is based on the traditional Chinese shape of the pagoda; this makes it unusual, as most super tall buildings have a regular 'box' shape.
In 1996, the Petronas towers in Kualar Lumpar famously became the world's tallest building, taking the title from the Sears tower. The Petronas towers cheat a bit, as they have large spires on their roofs, which count towards the total height. This means that The Sears tower still has the world's highest inhabited floor. However, there are projects such as the SWFS (Shanghai World Financial centre) Taipei 101 will also have the highest inhabited floor title on date of completion, taking Sear's title all together.
