- Bondbeast: Soulshadow, 'Shadow' for short
- Species: Wolf
- Age: ?/ adult
- Description: Dull coal black fur, dark yellow-brown eyes.
- Personality: Lazy and self-good. Not much of a crowd-pleaser
but can
still be playful and nice to have around. A reliable survivor,
but laid
back. To this wolf, the easy and good way out is always the best
way.
Wolf and elf have also an interesting 'conversation' between
them; partly
by wolf-sending, but much may also just be plain weird behaviour
between the two.
- Pet (s): None
- Hair: Thick, short and fluffy ebony black. Reaches to around
ears/do
not reach shoulders.
- Eyes: Icy blue-grey-brown (weird colour, but according to
pictures,
that what it is... ^^;;)
- Scars/Tattoos: Nearly unnoticeable scar marks on back etc.
Hands
show he works with them often
- Skin Shade: Very pale in winter, can become a tan in summer.
- Build: Tall, broad shouldered and muscular.
- Height: Around 5". (Basically a head taller than average)
- Overall Face:
- Color Scheme: Earthly forest and ground colours plus black.
Brown,
beige, black, red, etc.
- Jewelry: A narrow flat dark -almost dull- gold ring around
forehead, plus a
somewhat broader flat gold ring around each upper arm.
- Clothing:
- Summer: Sleeve-less open-sided beige/light tunic with a hood.
Belt.
Dark/black pants, dark brown boots or shoes. Soft dark brown
leather
fist-protectors that also partly covers the hand.
Extras: Kneepads - dark straps winded around knees. Extra leggings
from
knees and down.
Winter: Thick long-sleeved tunic, extra (fur?) padded leggings
- Weapons: The narrow longsword named "Slave's Rage";
long blade, simple dark gold
crescent hilt with a rough ruby set inside the knob. Slave's
Rage is no
weapon made for hunt or daily life and so most likely seldom
used. -He
might wear it to hunt in a symbolic gesture, but it ought to
be
impractical to use against the usual prey.
Carries a smaller hunter/skinners knife, and has adapted to use
a clean
hunting-spear (normally skilled) or a standard longbow (normally
skilled) instead.
- Talents: Sending, and the capability to bond with wolves.
Due to Swordeye's rather weak (or just straight out confused)
psychic
personality, his sending capability is nothing special at all
and given
a pressed situation he might not even manage anything above automatic
response. If he goes berserk (aka he fails to faint) he might
get real
scary though -but that, would be rare.
- Skills: Swordeye is a craftsman and that is what he is most
proud of about
himself (he can be useful, yay!). Basically, he likes to make
stuff. In
the art of smithy and blacksmith he is in class with the trolls'
own
smiths. He can do everything from bright-metal weapons to usual
soft-metal
elf jewellery. He can also work leather and other materials that
has to
do with similar crafts: leather for sword-handles, sheaths, wood
and
clay for moulds and castings etc. -Don't trust him to do soft
clothing
leather though: he could manage, but not better than anyone else.
NOTE: Swordeye's not a master or genius smith and/or craftsman,
but he
is very good/talented. He is NOT a fighter/warrior, even though
he is
trained in the arts.
As his names might imply he's a swordsman; he likes swords, -as
a
weapon, as an instrument, as an art (I reckon should he ever
come across a
piece of the Eastern Swords Craft -the samurai swords, etc- ,
he'd fall
in love and worship 'em... ^^;;). He's good at making them and
also
fairly good at handling them.
Swordeye is also a fascinated with humans and has managed to
pick up a
bit of their language over time (he probably understand the basics,
and
may be able to put together a coherent sentence). He has not
many bad
experiences with humans, making his general and quiet opinion
about them
being a very fascinating all though mind-riddling paranoid, strange,
wondrous, and violent animal.
- Likes: Feeling secure, feeling welcome, the hunt and the
wild free
life. Understanding of new things, making things, stories and
songs/music.
Solitude when wanted but also company.
- Dislikes: Fighting, war, hurt, pain and loss. Prejudges,
being
different and being in the 'lamplight' (damn scary that).
- History: Born in the northern Frost Leaves Holt, Swordeye
was formerly
'Nightdance', a pretty usual elfin cub. After the holt burnt
to the ground over
one night, caused by skyfire during a dry summer storm,
Swordeye/Nightdance was one of the few survivors thanks to his
grandmother -who most
likely died to save him-, but alone. He was by then young enough
to
still be called cub, but should have been around age fit to begin
hunting.
A team of Trolls from the nearby mountains, who were on patrol
to see
the damage after the storm/fires, captured him and brought him
to
underground to slavery. After long turns of the seasons spent
digging narrow
tunnels for the water supply, the Troll's old master smith took
in
Swordeye/Nightdance. The smith needed a pair of slender and flick
hands for
assistance in his work - to not be outsmarted by the younger
smiths who
wanted to take his place. After have been learnt to do small
complicated jewellery for the Troll-king and his women in the
name of the old
Master smith, Swordeye/Nightdance finally got taught the real
art of
smithy/blacksmiths by the troll, and later gained his name 'Swordeye'
that
way. Years later after that when he was fully grown, strong,
and
skilled, he crafted the sword 'Slave's Rage' -originally meant
to be a
decorative sword for the king- and later escaped the troll mountain.
When his regained freedom only lead to see his holt totally gone,
he
began to travel when there was nothing else to do, and much later
came
upon a pack of wolves and bonded with Shadow - who followed him
when he
moved on. However, Swordeye still turns 'slightly' mad/raged,
when Troll
comes in sight. Trolls are one of the few things beside prey
he won't
argue if he is forced to fight.
Sometime later - after other brief encounters with elves, trolls,
humans, etc - Swordeye came upon Ivy Holt (Ivy Holt © to
its creators). At
Ivy Holt he found a new place to belong to: a new pack and even
lovemates. Lovemates, whom he later followed to re-found a tribe
at Rock's Den
(Rock's Den © to its creators).
- Personality: Swordeye is a calm and down-to-earth person.
He might look
like a warrior-type but he is the opposite and avoids fights
if he have
to. He actually behaves pretty much like a wolf in general: calm
family-type that likes to be in the go but does not crave individual
ramplight (clearly no alpha-male). He likes the standard things
that makes life
good, he doesn't fight nor attack if he can avoid it -but cornered
he
is still equipped to fight back fiercely (if he survives the
initial
fright ^^;;). He's emotional and it usually shows even if he
can restrain
himself like anyone else. He is shy, uncertain about himself,
a classic
worrywart and suffers from a bad case of low self-esteem. He
has been
getting better on the self-esteem and likewise parts thanks to
his new
'family'... But, he is still a bit of that annoying person who
in
arguments never is late to assume he's wrong no matter case,
and may say "I'm
sorry" on automatic if something goes wrong (Arrgh, that
is so
irritating! Why do I think Belldandy... >.<;;).
- Outlook on Life: "It is nice to be alive. Scary, but
nice."
- Sees Self As: A wimp (can't argue he is in lack of self-criticism.).
And inwardly has hard to let go of the thought of being unworthy,
and
perhaps a bit freaky (his unusual hobbies/specialities, and he's
very
self-conscious about his height). But he will try to do his best
to be
worthy, for the people he holds dear.
