I couldn't stand her. Soon enough though, she released the song "Without You," and I was hooked. She followed it up in December 1994 with "All I Want For Christmas," and she quickly rose from the ashes she had started in to become my all-time favourite singer. Sure, she made the movie Glitter, but look at what movies Madonna makes. She's amazing incredible wonderful talented genius, and there's no beating her. I saw her in concert 28 July 2003. Shania Twain! Then there's Shania Twain. Poor girl. You can't label her country; you can't label her pop. She's just Shania. Her videos are always, um, original, and her songs are quite catchy. You can't help but like her (or be annoyed by her, like certain people tell me, grr). There's something about her music that makes me happy and cheers me up on a bad day. Some consider her to be very close to their hearts. Me, I just consider her Shania! Twain!, the singer who is just excited about her music so she uses 15 exclamation points. STEPS!, or Shania Twain Exclamation Point Syndrome! is quite the interesting phenomenon. I've seen her in concert three times. Y también está Shania Twain. Pobre chica. Brand New When I went to Warped 2003, I saw posters and people wearing shirts advertising a band named Brand New, and the name crept into my conscious, even though I had no clue who they were. A few months later, in Spain, one of my Spanish music magazines had a short article on them, and I made a mental note to download them when I got back to the states and check them out. (Legally, of course, if the RIAA finds this page somehow.) I forgot, and then in January 2004, on my Launch video player, came this riff I couldn't get out of my head, featuring a beautiful man running down the street, into a bar where everyone copied exactly what the guy was doing. This was the video for "Sic Transit Gloria...Glory Fades." I bought the Deja Entendu album in February, and it took a while to get hooked. Suddenly, in April, I was all over the band. Their songs skyrocketed to the top of my chart, and then when I got their first album, those songs shot to the top of my chart. I just can't get enough. Jesse's an incredible singer and writer (and incredibly sexy to boot.) The lyrics capture the essence of how I feel, and thus, Brand New has become the first band since No Doubt to break into the triumviate, now a Quad. I'm anxiously awaiting to see them in concert. Algunos meses después, cuando estaba en ESpaña, unos de mis revistas músicas españoles tenía un artícula corta sobre Brand New, y quiso descargar sus canciónes cuando volveria a los EE.UU. Me olvidé. En enero de 2004, en mi launch.com videoplayer, su video de "Sic Transit Gloria...Glory Fades." Un hombre muy guapo está corriendo en la calle. Él entra un bar y toda la gente copia sus acciones. Compré el cd Deja Entendu en febrero de 2004. De repento, me encanta Brand New en abril. Estaba escuchando a su música todo el tiempo. En mayo de 2004, compré su primer cd y no pude dejar escucharlo. Jesse Lacey es un cantante y escritor increible, y también es muy sexy. Su letra explica como me siento. Adémas, Brand New he hecho el primer grupo desde No Doubt que me encanta tanto. Quiero ver Brand New en concierto mucho.
