City Girl turned Country!!

I was an accountant for over 30 years, and then I recently married
and we moved to the family farm. My new job was to take care of the
animals that I was about to obtain. I got horses, goats and then geese
and ducks. Lastly I purchased 32 very small chicks. They were so
small I thought for sure I had cute little pets. This city girl forgot that
within a few short months dozens of eggs were coming in. I was getting
at least 2 dozen eggs a day. My dilemna, what to do with them,
because just how many eggs could a family of 3 eat! I started donating
them to the local mission to hand out to the elderly and people in need.
I gave them to the local food pantry to help feed the homeless. I am
now also giving them to Meals on Wheels. I started incubating some of
my eggs this spring and I now have about 200 chickens so that I can
fulfill the great need for our eggs! I never thought that this was what
I would be doing with our eggs. I have a beautiful Golden Comet
Rooster, and he will be shown at the NY State Fair. Guess I have
really turned country now. You can see our farm on the web at
