MFT - Floggings Will Continue 'Til Morale Improves (2000) - Salsa Wreckers/Chicken-Head Records
Unfortunately I don't know much history, if any at all, on MFT. The album was released three years ago, and I wonder if they're still around or not. In any case, what I can tell you about the disc is that it's a great punk rock album. Straight-forward punk rock sound and attitude. MFT sounds like many garage punk bands, the music is just driving all the time. The lyrics are very entertaining, listen closely on "Velveeta", it's gotta be my favorite track based on the lyrics. Seventeen tracks of high-octane, high tempo, punk 'n' roll. I enjoyed the CD very much and would tell others to try to dig it up if they can find it, but I got a feeling that there may not be many left anywhere. You should contact Chicken-Head Records to find out how to get your copy. - MG

Varant Majarian - Josh-Core EP (2002) - Chicken-Head Records
West Coast hardcore rockers Varant Majarian bring the heat. New noise from California, VM rock in the conventional hardcore sound, fast, obnoxious, carefree, but laced with humor. Again I don't know much about the band, except for what I saw on their website. I think this disk is for those of you who like the DIY-not-too-clean sound of the hardcore genre. The best line from any of the tracks has got to be, "I guess the pigeons will have to find someone else to shit on." Classic. - MG

Various Artists - Chicken-Head Records Comp #2: Mein Comp - Chicken-Head Records
Now I dunno if all of these bands are affiliated in any way with Chicken-Head, but one way or the other this is a great collection of some really talented bands. There are thirty songs from fifteen different bands, and different punk genres. A complete DIY package, every bit of the packaging and booklet were created and folded by hand. Gotta love the DIY. The tracks vary from hardcore to screamo to pop-punk, and everything inbetween. Check out tracks from Anubis Rising, MFT, The Jane Doz, and No Good Reason. Everything on this disc is interesting in it's own right, so be sure to hunt this one down and get a dose of the underground punk rock sound for yourself. A really cool collection of songs from bands, that I'm not sure where they're all from. The booklet inside is a piece of work! Games, jokes, comics, the whole bit. I was in stiches from some of the zingers included in the booklet. One more thing...great artwork all over the case! A really well done DIY release.. - MG
