| Rachel Fennick Interview 3/28/03 |
| What do you think the 3 main problems with dating as we know it today are? 1. Not a proper view of marriage. 2. Not dating with a purpose. 3. Not friends long enough first. They dont have a proper view of marriage, therefore they dont date correctly. You need to date with a purpose, and in order to do that you need to know what you want; what God wants. If you know what you want, youll wait for it. Sometimes girls dont want to give up whats good for them to receive Gods best. Be content being single first. |
Is there anything wrong with kissing before marriage? As a rule of thumb, no. All physical touch should be an expression of love. You need to guard your body, and not only your thoughts, but also the other persons thoughts. Some people, that would make them stumble. Others, thats not a problem. It needs to be used when youre pretty sure youre going to marry the person. You shouldnt just give it away freely. It should be a big deal. It should be something special that you just dont give away to everyone. |
Is simply minimizing physical involvement enough? Oh NO guarding your heart, doing everything in sequence- You have to have the right mindset. You have to dwell on whats right |
How do you know your friend will marry you? You talk about it as you grow in your relationship, and you will evaluate the other person. I think it takes time to know. Are we on the same path? Things are falling into place. Gods working it together. |
How did you come to these conclusions? The Bible, a lot of books, my parents are divorced, so Ive seen it gone wrong. Really, God taught me |
Why dont most Christians come to the same conclusions, even though they have the same Bible and the same Holy Spirit inside them? 1. Theyre not willing to wait; they want to enjoy sin. 2. Theyre not willing to obey. 3. They might not understand the value of marriage. 4. You have to want to learn. |
What is Gods ideal for singles preparing for marriage? The most important thing is purity. |
So should there be no commitment beyond friendship unless it is permanent? There is no one perfect way to date. People are too different to have any one system. |
