Thanksgiving Stew

1 1/2 Lb Round steak -- cube, brown with gravy*
1 Tablespoon Vegetable oil
1/2 Cup Water
15 Ounces tomato sauce
15 Ounces corn -- Canned
15 Ounces sliced carrots -- Canned
15 Ounces mixed vegetables -- Canned
10 Ounces beef broth -- Canned

This recipe is not quite clear to me. In the ingredient
list, it says to brown the steak in gravy. In the
directions it says to brown in oil. Take your choice. Brown
steak in oil, then add 1/2 c water, stirring well. Simmer
on low on stove top for 30 minutes. Place veggies, tomato
sauce and broth in slow cooker. Add round steak and its
gravy. Cook on LOW for 8 hours. *Gravy may be made in a
variety of ways. For maximum thickness, coat the meat in
1/2 cup flour before browning. You may also chooise to add
a pack of Lipton onion soup mix.
