2 tablespoons Olive oil
1 medium Onion -- minced
1/4 pound Ground beef
3 Garlic cloves -- minced
2 teaspoons Ground coriander
2 teaspoons Chili powder
1 tablespoon Fresh grated ginger root
1/2 teaspoon Ground cumin
2 Tart apples; peel -- core and
chop
1/2 cup Water
1 teaspoon Salt
1 pound Frozen puff pastry
1 Egg -- beaten
Heat oil in skillet and add onion, beef, garlic, coriander,
chili powder, ginger root and cumin. Saute until the onion
is tender and the beef is browned, about 10 minutes. Stir in
the apples, water, and salt.
Reduce heat and simmer until apple is s oft, about 20
minutes.
Stir to mash the apple; cool. Preheat oven to 400~.
Use one piece of pastry at time and roll out into a 12"
square.
Cut into 3" squares. Place a rounded tsp of filling
in center of each suare.
Moisten the edges with water. Fold the sqares diagonally in
half to enclose filling. Press to seal;press edges with the
tines of a fork. (Can be frozen at this point.) Brush the
tops of the puffs with beaten egg; pierce the tops with a
fork and bake on an ungreased cooke sheet for 15 minutes.
Serve hot.
