Walls of Hell

For all the pain he’s suffered
And all the abuse he’s taken
He built a wall to keep all away

He now remembers all the bruises he’s had
And all of the hurt he’s held inside
He wasn’t allowed to show his pain and suffering

His father always hit him
For talking about emotions
And his mother was never around

So when it came time for him
To show his emotions and explain all his pain
He didn’t know what to say

Now many years after his thinking
And sorting through of feelings
He’s able to talk about his past
And reminisce about the years of hell he lived
And how he had risen above his father’s prison
