Welcome friends!  Just launched this page a few days ago.  See, this is what happens when you have wayyyy to much free time at work, and unlimited access to a computer. I get so bored!

I just purchased my first bike last night.  It is a Kawazaki Vulcan 500.  I'll be picking it up on Saturday.  Wahooo, I am excited! Here are some pic of it. I can't wait to just ride (while wearing all my protective gear of course). See you on the road!

Had my bike for about a month now.  How sad is this, I wear a youth size Small helmet! I have put about 300 miles on my bike, mostly riding to college on the weekend, and weekend trips up and down the coast.  I have been braving it on my own, and even got some rain ridding experience! (unintentionally)

Wow, been a while since I updated this.  I now have 1000 + miles of motorcycle experience!  I very rarely pop the cluch, and have been practicing accelerating through my turns.  After my fall in MSF, I have been very cautious in my truns, and tend to take them slow and wide.  I am feeling very comfortable on my bike now.  One thing that suprised me though was how quickly my bike felt small to me.  I recently sat on a Shadow 600, and it felt much more to my liking.  Oh well, I will stay with my current bike.  1- Because I like my baby, 2- I still need a lot of experience, and 3- I can't afford anything else!  Next paycheck my baby is going in for routine repairs.  I really want to learn how to do a lot of them on my own.

I rode to Bakersfield,CA for the 4th of July weekend.  It was about a 400 mile round trip.  Boy is my butt sore!  And since I had the saddle bags, I had to pack everything on my bike.  We got to my Grandparents house at noon on Sunday, and headed over to my Grandma's nephew's house for lunch, gab, motorcycle talk (that is my cousin Sean on the back of the bike, wearing my helmet.  It fits him perfectly!), and once dark , fireworks!  Spent the night at my Nana's house, and then headed out early Monday morning to try and get back in time to get some work in.  Nana tried to get me to take home 2 large bags of her plumbs, but I was only able to fit one on my bike, and that was with some very creative repacking.

I now have 1900 miles on my bike!  I had the rear tire replaced once I got back from Bakersfield. When I took my bike in for a pre-trip look over, I asked the guy if the tires would get bme there and back.  He looked at them, shrugged, and said "enhh". Not very comforting!  But they didn't have the right tires in stock, so there was no way for me to change them before leaving.
Went to the LA Calendar MC Show at the Queen Mary over the weekend.  There were some VERY nice bikes there!  Got to see some of the bikes built for the Great Biker Build-off on Discovery.  Exile and Chico were there, as well as one other (can't remember!).  I love the simplicity of the Exile bikes.  It was very crowded, and HOT!  We had to park clear over in the parking structure because the QM lot was full...of cars! and the parking structure even said no motorcycles.  Had to pay $9 to park, while those lucky enough to squeeze into the QM lot were able to park for free.
So now I am getting ready for the ride this weekend!  I can't wait!  I hope I don't do any newbie mistakes.  My sister (Emily) is also comming for a visit soon.  This is turning out to be a pretty good month.
