Andy Massie
Andy was born 1929 in Scotland and played in the dance halls of Dundee until coming to NZ circa 1967 to play in the dance bands of Auckland and in 1972 was known to add a touch of class to the Riverboat Ramblers. He is famous for his "mean green machine", a 1934 Radio Improved Selmer Alto Sax. (which once was gold) He has been with the Chicago Jazzmen for a long time and his vocals (and hair colour) have earned him the sobriquet of the "Silver Budgie"
Rumour has it that Andy will be inviting tenders for another second-hand clarinet reed any time now. At present he is also reed man for the
"New Orleans JoyMakers"
