The only Maori dixieland banjo player in NZ with a real feel for the style. Bill has always played guitar, usually with his own Rock 'n Roll or Country bands. In the past he has been offered permanent gigs playing in Australia and the USA but has turned them down, prefering to stay where he is. Bill's banjo playing was a feature of the Brass Gentry for about 20 years from 1977. and he was (and still is) heavily involved in teaching his award winning style at Country & Western Clubs in South Auckland. |
