FYI - Chicago ADAPT members will be visiting Illinois Attorney General Jim Ryan's office, in the State of Illinois building, on Thurs. Aug. 10, at 11:30 AM, to stage a "Thank You!!" demonstration. We will be delivering flowers, balloons and other thank you gifts to demonstrate our heartfelt gratitude to AG Ryan and his staff.Ryan took the concerns of our community seriously and demonstrated his support of our ADA by signing onto the pro-ADA amicus brief. Ryan's staff, especially his disability rights staff, deserve a great deal of credit for their hard work on this issue behind the scenes.
All are welcome to join us! We will meet in the main lobby area of the Thompson Center / State of Illinois building at 11:30 am and probably head up to the 12th floor at about 11:40 am. No need to bring signs or bullhorns but cards, flowers, balloons, etc. would be great. Chicago ADAPT will be presenting AG Ryan (or whatever bewildered staff person is behind the counter) with our trademark "ADAPT or Perish" t-shirt. Y'all come out now ya'hear?!
