Updates for February 2001

2-22-01 / Afternoon
On Monday and Tuesday of this week, the site underwent a change in the layout. The menubar, the pictures on the main and entrance pages, and the font and link colors and sizes have all been modified to make CVV more eye-appealing. It took a relatively great amount of effort on my part, so I hope you guys appreciate the results (I do at least). I also added 3 links to the Links section, one of which is a site providing info on the latest viruses... I still can't believe it, but the thing that kept on screwing up my computer and initiating the illegal operations strings was a "medium-risk" virus that originated last fall named W32.Hybris.gen@M and variants of it (shudder shudder). I found this out after downloading McAfee's latest Virus Scanner (apparently, my outdated 1997 scanner was useless -_- obviously). So to all you guys out there that go online rather frequently, my advice is to download the latest scanners and DAT files and perform sys checks once or more a week. Well, that's all. -Later-

Well, it's been quite a time since I updated. One reason was that virtually no one visits my site (and I won't even get started on that...) Anyways, I've added a few cool links in the Links section. Toonami has finished airing the 25 Outlaw Star (OLS) eps (there are 26 in actuality) yesterday, and reruns start Monday. However, please note that the time has been shifted from 6:30 PM to 5:30 PM. OLS is certainly one of the best mini-series I've ever seen (like I've seen anything besides that and DBZ...), but those of you who never looked into it should consider doing so. I even got the MP3s from both OLS OSTs (1 and 2), with Suzuka and Asiatic on OST1 being the most notable BGMs. As far as vocals go, the end theme and Tsuki no ie are just too cool... so check out OLS and after that, Cowboy Bebop if you think OLS is the type of anime for you - Later (and remember... POG-gua-sun-FA!!!) ^_^

This is not really a CVV update, but I'd just like to make some comments on some things I've been seeing recently on tv. First off, Gladiator is an awesome movie and you should rent it from your local video rental store whenever you can. And as for you one-sided anime fans out there, Outlaw Star is airing it's 15th ep tonight at 6:30PM and 12:30AM (Midnight Run) as well. Those of you who are interested in the US DBZ dub (however few that may be ... hopefully), the Kaio Tournament mini saga tapes are out in stores. They're ripping you off in my opinion for some low quality sh*t but then again there are a lot of suckers out there. I suggest buying fansubs, as usual (course it's always easier to get those cheaply in NYC). For previews of the tapes, just go to DB3K.com and d/l some clips there. But before warned, the new music (I think it's supposed to me Paikuhan's little theme) sounds awful ... and there's also unskilled use of some voice enhancing technology, very typical of FUNi dumbasses (PS check out their "official" site at dragonballz.com and you'll roll over laughing your a*s off -Later-
