Queen Serenity is Sailor Moon's real mother. She was a kind and gentel ruler and was the ruler of the Moon Kingdom during the Silver Millennium. She wanted Serena to follow in her foot steps. When Queen Baryel came she destroyd the Moon Kingdom and took Darian and Serena's lifes'. So Queen Serenity traped them in the Imperem Silver Crystal. She used the last of her strength to to bring them 100 years to the future. In the Japanese version the sailors and the rest of the crew are sent serveral 100 years into the past(our present days).
