Vampire's Sun (Three of Sarita and Barrett) The colors slowly shift Like paint being mixed Darkest night slowly to charcoal The sun creeps over the hills Shots of gold, flares of pink And faint purple cloud tendrils Grasp in vain at the fading dark A dark man With skin of white Eyes icy blue And hair of pale blonde Stands within the reaches of light His gaze resting to the east The morning breeze Caresses the fabric he wears But he neither moves nor shivers in the least Slowly from his lips, a yawn It warns him of the dawn His body weakens slowly Until his strength is nearly gone Creature of the night this dark man is Lethargic, but still surviving the light He smiles as his fearing lover steps out She was afraid the sun would burn them down She looks at him then at herself and laughs With their vampire eyes they've seen the sun rise
