Shadow of Love

Sitting here outside
Under the soft moonlight
Dreaming of love
I sigh into the night

I softly whisper your name to the dark,
As the pale moonlight catches a tear on my cheek
The sweet earthy smell of soil and wildflowers,
It surrounds me as I stare at the sky
And then, close my eyes

I feel a warm, tender touch on my face
Then a warm kiss soft on my lips
Beyond all the cold of the night

I open my eyes
In darkness I stare
As the world comes into focus
Then I am looking into your deep blue eyes

Darkness surrounds us
As you take me in your arms
You whisper in my ear all your feelings as I pour out my own

Lost in a deep kiss 
I really open my eyes
The darkness quiet and still
The wind touching my face with a cold caress
Slowly, I realize it must have been a dream
As I gaze at my watch, I see the hours passed
Was I laying here for so long alone?
Or were you there?

Again, I sigh as I walk,
Barefoot across the wet grass
Slowly towards my door

I look once more, back where I had lain moments before
Again, I see your face in a shadow
I see your body next to me in a dimly moonlit shadow
The magic of the night, taking its toll on me

I smile as tears come down again,
Walk silently into my chamber
To my soft, warm bed
Then, I cuddle close to the person next to me
You

I am looking into your sweet face, this time not a dream
You're really here, laying here next to me
Held to you in a warm embrace
Safe forever more at your side
I drift into sweet dreams
