There's a shadow on my heart
A shadow that flickers and burns,
resembling a darkness on the lunar surface.

It eats at my heart,
like the sun
To a vampire's immortality.

All I have left
is a blackened rose,
In a crystal vase,
With a tattered bow of silk and lace

I try to love you,

I try to throw my past away.

I'm the vampire who's grown too weary
The demon with a death wish
Who wants to see the sun

I miss it. It will banish my shadows.
