Death's Embrace (First of Sarita and Barrett) Death lingers in the air I watch the night breeze, As it gently stirs his hair. He's watching me, The moon reflects in his eyes, His figure cloaked in a shadow, Mysterious man, pale as marble I'm fearing, but I do not flee. He moves closer, I stand still, His beauty paralyzing me. Standing before me now, He envelops me in a cold embrace. He brushes my cheek with his lips, Moving toward my ear, I hear him whisper 'Beautiful…' Brushing my hair away, he kisses my neck. I shiver, he pulls me close and tight, Suddenly I feel a swift, sharp pain… I hear a voice say, 'Do not be afraid…' I succumb to him without a fight. I feel my lifeblood drain away, Yet I no longer care. I am now swooning in sweet ecstasy a mere toy in death's embrace, My life in his control. He feels warmer now, My life within him, He lays me upon the floor, I watch him, I'm dazed, barely alive unknowing or caring if I'll survive. Suddenly I feel warm liquid at my lips, starving for warmth, I drink Clinging to the source: His wrist. Feeling new life surge through me, as the old dies I convulse and shudder as he jerks his wrist away, I cry out in panic as I feel myself die, All fades to black… I awake suddenly, my senses feel heightened. I stare around with my new eyes, Vampire's eyes And I see him standing there, watching intently, then I hear his voice: "The night is yours, Sarita…and you are mine…"
