Promises fade like sunsets
Pain courses like poison
and fear holds like steel

He left her
as he was wont to do
the only difference
was he never returned

Doomed to life eternal
Wand'ring now alone
watching, waiting, anticipating
the day he may come
to the place she now calls home

Her human heart weeps
Her vampiric nature careless
Always so human
