James Pankow was born on August 20th, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri. He is one of nine children, and his younger brother, John Pankow, is an actor who was "Ira" on the hit television series, "Mad About You". Being one of the original members of Chicago who is still with the band, Jimmy has been playing trombone and percussion with the group ever since their "Beginnings". He has also wrote many songs for the group, some of them being "Colour My World", "Make Me Smile", and "(I've Been) Searchin' So Long".
