Open Thine Eyes- Chapter 4

Last chapter Serena came face to face with the shadow without knowing it was him but Darien rescued him. The outers met up with the inners and planned to go meet Serena at the ice rink.

The Outer and Inner scouts walked down the pavement to the ice rink each of them enjoying one another's company.
"Look, there's Serena and Darien and Rini!" Ami pointed when suddenly they heard a huge rumble.
"What was that?" asked Mina.
"Sounds like a snow storm." replied Michiru. "We better hurry and let them know." They all rushed over to Serena and Darien.
"Hi guys" said Serena.
"Hey Serena" said Ami "We gotta hurry and get out of here there's a stor......" Too late the snow started pouring down in buckets. It was suddenly snowing so hard that you could barely see your way around your own feet.
"C'mon!" yelled Darien "Our Cabin is closest!" All the scouts clasped hands and began the trip there. Darien picked up Rini and took Serena's arm. The snow was getting worse and now it was beginning to hail.
"Are you alright back there, we're only a couple of inches from the cabin! I can feel the wall. Let me just get out the key!" yelled Mina.
"We're alright!" screamed Serena " Just...... " BOOM!!!!!!!!!! Serena got hit on the head by a piece of small hail but it was enough to knock her out.
"Serenity!" screamed Darien. He only called her that when he was terribly worried about her. He passed Rini over to Setsuna and picked up Serena then they all shoved themselves into the cabin.

"Very good Very good!!!!" screamed the shadow. The dark creature that had appeared earlier scurried over to the base of his throne.
"Master, the machine is prepared."
"Good, the princess is asleep now. I shall go soon. "

In the cabin, Serena was lying down on the loveseat with her torso in Darien's arms. She had a bandage on her covering the wound she had received. It was only a small cut and she had most likely just passed out from the shock.
"Serenity, Serenity.." Darien whispered slightly shaking her and in a subtle way begging her to wake up.
In her head:
The shadow crept closer. Not you again! go away! give it to me.... the shadow whispered.... or... Serenity, Serenity... A golden light appeared as she heard her name being called. the shadow tried to get to her but it was to late she was about to wake up. Before she got out the shadow grabbed her and did something that made the effects of the dream that she had been having ever since the first one 100 times worse. He laughed
as she awoke and sat straight up.
Darien when she fell on to the floor.
"Serena are you alright!" he asked. "Did you have the dream again?"
"Yes..." she whispered. "Oh Darien" she cried into his chest. She sobbed as he picked her up and put her on the loveseat once more.
"I'll go put some tea on." Whispered Lita. Setsuna went to help her as the other scouts sat on the floor worried sick.
Serena still sobbed in Darien's arms and eventually stopped and looked up him teary eyed and said "I'm sorry... for getting your shirt so wet"
"It's alright darlin, that doesn't matter I just need to know you're alright." Rini walked over to them.
"Mommy are you sick. What's wrong." Serena looked down at her and smiled with tears once again starting to flow.
"mommy..." she whispered and quickly picked up Rini and hugged her tightly. "I'm alright honey, I'm alright."
After a couple of hours they all decided to go to sleep and since they were snowed in they would have to make different arrangements. Rini fell asleep first and so they placed her on a bed. Setsuna went to sleep in the same bed. The inner scouts all huddled up worried about Serena on one bed and Haruka and Michiru slept at the end of the bed Rini was on. Darien held Serena in his arms on the love seat and slowly they each fell asleep.
Serena began to have the dream again but for some reason it was different. She felt more helpless. The shadow crept closer and closer and finally began to explain things.
