| Minutes March 12, 2007
The meeting was brought to order at 7:03pm. A motion was made to have the minutes accepted, seconded, and approved. Treasurers Report Rama Peri reported there is $20,238.65 in the Student Accounts and this reflects the deduction of the 3rd payment for those students attending the Boston Trip. There is $15,575.35 in the General Fund, $4.73 in the Rifle Fund, and $838.22 in the Scholarship Fund. The actual band accounts are Checking with $24,022.62, Money Market with $11,796.10 and Scholarship with $836.22. This comes to a total of $36,654.94. Student Accounts Connie Holdridge reported that the student accounts are posted on the band doors for only those students who are making the trip to Boston at this time. The fourth and final payment is due for all students and chaperones on April 3rd. Students will owe at that time $225.00 and chaperones will owe $275.00. Directors Report Spring Trip and Uniforms -Mr. Eli reported that all room assignments and final details are being sent to the tour company in Boston. Any cancellations now until March 20th will cost the student $50.00 and any cancellations after the 20th will cost each student $100.00. All uniforms are to be professionally cleaned and turned into the Band Room by Friday. All students have been told that if they do not get them in they will be charged$350.00 for the missing uniform through the main school office. Any uniform turned in but not professionally cleaned will result in the student being charged $10.00. He is also presently pursuing leaving for Boston in the morning rather than late afternoon. All final details will be available to chaperones and families at the next board meeting on April 16th in the High School Band Room. Upcoming Performances � There is a possibility the bands will be performing with a London Student Band on April 1st. All details are still being worked out and will be given to the students. On April 20th the Jazz Band will be traveling to the University of Delaware to perform in the morning, however, this trip will last the entire day and finish after dinner with a performance by the Airmen of Note. On April 21st, the Jazz Band will be performing in the Little Theater at 12:30 to kick off the Visual and Performing Art�s In Bloom Exhibit. Tickets to see and listen to all venues of art on display that day will cost $2.00 and will benefit the CH Visual and Performing Arts Calendar for 2007-2008 school year. Presidents Report March Mayhem � Robert Wingo reported this fundraiser has been tabled for this year due to an increase in charges to us from the Bay Center and the Funsters. Krista Scudlark suggested that if this idea is explored in future years that the boosters should investigate using the Officers Club at the State Park. Applebee�s Breakfast � Lisa Thorpe advised that the March 10th breakfast had to be cancelled due to a lack of ticket sales. Those tickets however can still be sold for the breakfast still being held at Applebee�s on the 31st. All monies and unsold tickets do need to be turned in on March 23rd. She also advised that 20 to 25 volunteer students and/or parents will be needed that morning. All food servers and dishwashers must be at least 16 years old. Strawberry Sale � Connie Holdridge reported that all strawberry sale forms were given with collection envelopes to all band students. The students have a potential to earn 45% profit on each pound of North Carolina restaurant quality strawberries they sell and all monies earned will go into their personal accounts in time for the Boston Trip. Although all monies in the form of a check made out to CH Music Boosters needs to be turned in on March 28th, delivery of the strawberries will not be till May 15th. New Business Budget � At the April 16th meeting the 2007/2008 budget will be presented. Nomination Committee � Robert Wingo requested booster members to come forward and form a nominating committee for the upcoming election of a new Booster Board. We will try to have representation at both of the Middle School band meetings to inform those parents of the upcoming nomination/election process as well. Scholarship Committee � Marilyn Davis, Krista Scudlark, and Heidi Dukes all volunteered to serve on this committee for this years graduating Senior Scholarships. Bar-B-Que Chicken Dinner � Robert is looking into a dinner in the spring to be held under the pavilion on Savannah Road. Cell Phones/Ink Cartridges � Ken Schleifer advised that $350.00 has been earned from this recycling fundraiser and a check should be received shortly. New Fundraiser � Ken also advised of a baked goods fundraiser and will arrange for the presenter to be at our May 8th meeting to explain the goods and pricing. Samples will be available. The meeting was adjourned at 8:10 pm. The next meeting will not be on the second Monday due to the Spring Vacation but in fact will be April 16th.
