Presidents Report
Robert Wingo thanked the band and chorus for their past few performances they were wonderful.  Also, he thanked Julie Wilson and Heidi Dukes for taking care of the Seniors at the Sunday afternoon and Monday night final spring performances.  He also thanked Darrel for fixing the leak in the front of the instrument trailer.  Robert reminded everyone that if a thank you note needs to be sent to anyone that the information should be given to Diaz and he will send the thank you.

Nomination
Robert mentioned that he needed a motion to accept the present board for next years officers, it was so approved. Robert stated he hoped the final wording would be available for the amendment to the By-laws by next months meeting.

State Fair Parking
State Fair parking updates were given to both band and choir and to the Middle Schools.
PJ Hopkins stated they are still looking for more help.  Please contact her or Lisa Bales to volunteer; P.J. @ 684-4455, Lisa @ 644-1883.

Relay For Life
Connie Holdridge reported that 20 people from band did attend and $1700 was raised for this worthy cause.  A good time was had by all.  Thanks go to P.J., Heidi and Connie for chaperoning.

Spaghetti Dinner
A profit of $600.00 was made which was great as there was very little time to advertise.
We thank the management of Lighthouse Restaurant for the help and support.

Joe Corbi Pizzas

Joe Corbi did not forward their fundraiser info in time to distribute to the students before school closed for the summer.  When it is received we will get it out to the students.

Need Chairpersons
It was stated that we need new chair people for several activities; the band camp Pizza party, the band Picnic, Car Shows, and car washes were just a few that were mentioned.  All sign up sheets are available each month at our meetings or for further information please contact Robert Wingo at 684-4404.
Darrell Dukes presented an email he received on a concert at a discounted price of the Arti Shaw Band.  The performance would cost only $3000.00 instead of $6000.00.  It was mentioned that we might be better off checking into a bigger facility, ie: the Convention Center which holds 1000 people.  We would have a greater chance at making a larger profit especially if the center was donated.

New Business
Robert Wingo read the following statement to all present:
Since the conception of the Booster as organization, Each and every proceeding officer and boosters members have attempted to build upon the foundation of the organization.   As in a house there must be repairs and maintenance that have to be done so the foundation can support the home.  This organization must be able to stand so we can achieve our goal.  This organization is very much like a tree in many ways with the arrival of spring come new blossoms and final departure of the leaves from the previous seasons.  Each year students and parents leave the boosters and the arrival of new parents and students come forth. We must take this energy and organize it to meet the needs to students that we service financially and morally.  The boosters are only as strong as the roots and/or foundation which are those who participate and promote the boosters.  Our successes have been accomplished because of the hard work of the students and parents of the organization.  This year we have met our goals because of people working hard for their child and other students.   Each year it is a challenge because we face new obstacles.   As we proceed facing the new obstacle we find it makes for sweeter success. I feel the boosters had a great year, goals were set and met.   There is always room for improvement.   There are things which could have been done differently, now we can make adjustments for success.   We must look at other avenues or outside the box to meet future needs for the students we serve but never forget our focus to maintain the roots and/or the foundation of the organization.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 pm.  The next meeting will be in the back bus circle under the trees, so bring your chairs and your Ice Teas on July 10th at 7pm.
Minutes respectfully submitted by Joan Williamson.
