New Business Picnic An approximate date of August 27th or 28th was given for the band camp picnic. The purpose of this picnic is for the parents to see what their child has accomplished and meet other parents. A covered dish is requested and a letter will be sent to each family. Sign-Up sheets for chaperones, a clothing sale, and booster registrations will also be available. Christie Pierson has volunteered to help organize this event. Anyone else interested in organizing this event should contact Marilyn Davis. Pizza Party The pizza party has a tentative date of August 15th. Freda Burton will make calls for pizza donations and for parent assistance on this day. Drinks will be provided. New Parents P.J. Hopkins reviewed general information regarding music boosters for the new parents. Uniforms: P.J. Hopkins and Heidi Dukes will be on hand at the first 2 band camp meetings to fit the students with uniforms and make any necessary alterations. A representative from B&B Music will also be scheduled during band camp to order shoes and gloves for students who need them. There are a few pairs of used shoes in the band room that are also available. Phone Tree: A phone tree is set up for all students. All contacts are separated into groups and given to the volunteers to call for any cancellations, changes, or notices. The more phone tree volunteers that we have, the less phone calls each person has to make, therefore, less time consuming. Website Robert Wingo reported that Barry will keep any cancellations or notices updated on the band website. This is an excellent location to find any information pertaining to the band. Sign-Up Sheets Volunteer sign-up sheets will be available at our next meeting for all of our yearly events. Adjournment The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 pm.
