CAPE HENLOPEN MUSIC BOOSTERS
MINUTES 2005-2006

Minutes January 9, 2006

President Robert Wingo brought the meeting to order at 7:04 pm and welcomed all parents and students.  A motion was not made for the minutes to be accepted due to technical difficulty, however both December and Januarys minutes will be presented at Februarys meeting.  Prior to that meeting both will be posted on the web site.

Student Accounts

Connie Holdridge did bring updated Student Account lists for anyones information.  For those who have questions please feel free to call her at 227-8138.  Almost all students are paid up to date, just a few need to be contacted.  The next payment will be drawn/due on January 17th.  The final payment that will be made at a later date will be for the transportation costs.

Directors Report

Both Mr. Eli and Ms. Kelso were unable to attend tonights meeting due to County Band Auditions.

Presidents Report

Robert Wingo advised that there is still slots available and open for more parent Chaperones.  Anyone interested please contact Connie Holdridge ASAP at 227-8138.

The cell phone campaign has gotten off the ground this past month.  Although Mr. Ken Schliefer was unable to attend tonights meeting, Robert reported that collection containers have been put in all schools for the recycling of cell phones and ink jet cartridges.  In addition Ken distributed information sheets to all schools explaining the program.  If anyone should have any questions please contact Ken at 228-7659.

Robert reported that Mrs. Kim Roach would be chairing a fundraiser with Nicolas Pizza.
All students will be receiving a form with information on selling, ordering and delivery sometime this week.  The fundraiser will run for several weeks.  This is yet one more chance for any students who needed additional funds for the spring trip to earn them.  For each Nicoboli sold they will earn $1.10, for each case of Nicobolis sold they can earn $13.20.  Kim can be reached at 645-5540 if anyone has any questions.

Connie Holdridge advised that the Musical that was being planned for February has been cancelled, and therefore we will not be holding a spaghetti dinner during that month.  We will however still pursue the plans for the April dinner to be held at the Lighthouse Restaurant.  A question was raised as to whether there would be a limit on the number of tickets sold and also whether it would open to walk-ins.  It was explained that at the last dinner at the restaurant there was not enough food to serve all those that attended and we will plan accordingly to avoid that happening again.

Jamie Shea submitted information on sponsoring a new fundraiser at Cold Stone Creamery Ice Cream Store.  The board will look into this further and information will be available at Februarys meeting.

Old Business

Alan Bales was unable to attend tonights meeting due to illness.  His first organizational meeting to help plan a dance at Rusty Rudder was cancelled and is rescheduled for January 18th at his home.  Please come and please contact Alan for directions at 644-1883.  We have been penciled in at the Rudder tentatively for March 17th, a Friday night.

Robert reminded everyone that the Martin Luther King Parade is still scheduled for Saturday, January 14th at 11 am.  All students uniforms are to be cleaned after this final parade and turned in.  They will be stored for the spring trip.  Those students who will be performing for County Band should keep their uniforms until that is over.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:40pm.  The next meeting will be February 13th at 7pm in the school cafeteria.
