Old Business Phone Tree Darrell asked if everyone had received a call alerting them about the meeting. Most members had received a phone call. General Fund Expenditures Treasurer Heidi Dukes presented a report as requested at the March meeting on general fund expenditures for the last few years. It was voted by the general membership of those in attendance at a meeting in June 2002 to take $3000 from the State Fair Parking fundraiser and deposit it in the general fund as a way of replenishing that fund. As illustrated at the meeting, the general fund is used for things such as Drum Major Camp, trailer insurance and repair, scholarship awards, financial aid, supplies, clothing for resale, etc. Mr. Eli explained that in the early days of State Fair Parking, the band was smaller and the number of workers the State Fair required for shifts was lower thus earning the workers more money per hour. Although the amount of monies received for this fund raiser has increased over the past few years, the increased number of workers required by State Fair Personnel had the earnings for this past year just under $4.00 per hour. Motions were made, seconded and approved on the following items: All monies earned from State Fair Parking would go into the workers student account including the $3000 that used to go into the general fund. At the next meeting, we will establish on going fundraisers to replenish the General Fund. The first $500 earned from the General Fund fundraiser would go directly into the Scholarship Account. The remaining monies would pay other General Fund expenditures as needed.
