GET WET or at least near WATER

Our Boating Page

Boat Info Our biggest hobby revolves around the water. We choose to live where we do because of the abundandt waterways; the Trent River, the Neuse River and the Pamlico Sound. We can leave our house via our powerboat and be in the ocean if desired in an hour. During the trip we progress from slightly brackish water and its wildlife to the ocean and dolphins and such.

Debra's Training Boat

This is a West Wight Potter 15, 1982, hull number 1162. We plan to develop Debra's single handling techniques on the Trent River with this beauty, Tigerlily

s/v Thesaurus with her new stripes and after a polish and wax job with the application of her new name. The design was created via Microsoft Picture-It which allowed us to preview the decal on the boat. We then took it to a local sign shop who made the vinyl for a mere $20!

She's in the water and slip stored...what an adventure that was for our first sailboat launch!

We were lucky enough to be invited to crew aboard s/vCompass Rose in the latter half of 2002 and into 2003. This has greatly enhanced our desire to sail and given us valuable experience. We have a great debt of gratitude to Mark Brennesholtz, Captain of this fine Pearson 31, for offering the opportunity, fellowship and fun.
We sail out of Blackbeard's Sailing Club on the Neuse River, just off the Pamlico Sound. And, oh yeah, we usually win!

Debra keeps an eye out while we are in hot pursuit of Piccolo on a broad reach.
But on the web I like these forumsTrailer Sailor and GO BOATING to feel wet.

WE REALLY DO SAIL...at least when there is wind...This is from New Year's Day, 2004.
