No Bake Cornflake Chews
2 cups cornflakes 1 / 2 cup firmly packed brown sugar 1 / 3 cup honey 3 / 4 cup slivered almonds 3 / 4 cup chopped glace cherries 100 gm milk or dark chocolate, melted 50 gm butter
Combine sugar, honey and butter in a saucepan. Stir constantly over medium heat until butter melts and sugar dissolves. Bring to the boil. Remove immediately from heat, add cornflakes, almonds and cherries. Press tablespoonfuls of mixture onto a greased tray. Refrigerate until firm. Spread each biscuit with chocolate on each side and refrigerate until chocolate is firm, then serve |
