1 cup sugar
4 marshmallows 
2 tablespoons shredded coconut 
1 cup nuts 
1 / 2 cup water 
2 egg whites 
1 / 4 teaspoon vanilla 
Saltines

Boil sugar and water until syrup will spin a long thread when dropped from the tines of a fork.
Remove from fire. Add marshmallow cut in pieces. Do not stir.
Pour into stiffly beaten egg whites, beat until stiff.
Add coconut, nuts and vanilla.
Pile on crackers and bake in slow oven [ 325 - 350 F ] until delicately browned
