Ginger Biscuits

1 / 2 a pound of flour 
1 / 4 of a pound of fresh butter 
1 / 4 of a pound of castor sugar 
1 / 2 an ounce of ground ginger 
1 egg and a little milk

Rub the butter and ginger into the flour on the board.
Make a " bay " or hole, break in the egg and wet up into a nice working past, using a little milk
        if necessary.
Roll down in thin sheets and cut out with a plain round cutter.
Set on a greased baking sheet and bake in a cool oven.
Cooking time about 5 minutes to bake.
Sufficient for 2 dozen biscuits.
