Cottage Pie

500 gm minced beef
5 medium onions, about 300 gm, chopped 
1 teaspoon crushed garlic
250 gm carrots, sliced 
1 / 4 cup tomato paste 
1 cup beef stock 
2 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley 
40 gm butter 
Salt + pepper + grated nutmeg + allspic

Topping:

750 gm potatoes
1 / 2 cup finely grated yellow or Swiss Cheese 

Method :
Heat butter in pan. Add onions, garlic and minced beef.
Cook stirring until beef is browned.
Add carrots, paste, stock and season.
Simmer covered, until carrots are tender.
Remove from heat and stir in parsley.
Spoon mixture into ovenproof dish [ 6 cup capacity].
Spread with topping. Roughen topping with fork.
Bake uncovered in moderately hot oven until top is goldened.
Serve with a green salad.

Topping 
Boil potatoes until tender, and drain.
Combine potatoes with butter in a bowl.
Mash until smooth.
Stir in cheese and mix well
